Let me be blunt... I used to like anal with my partner, but a few months ago I asked him if we could take a break from it. I think he assumes we would get back into it soon, but I just never really want to...

Should I try it again, for his sake and see if I like it again? And, has anyone else had such a complete change of taste like this? It's like something that used to excite me is just uncomfortable now.

If you REALLY don't want to do something then don't.
If however, you feel like giving it another try, do it a little differently this time. More foreplay, more anal foreplay perhaps.
More and/or a different lube.

Remember though, even if you said "I'll never do it again" you can change your mind. And if you do try it again and realize that you still really don't like it, that too should be ok. Your partner may be disappointed, but he should not make it a relationship ending thing.

don't ever do something you don't want to do. if someone really cares about you, or is respectful, they won't force you to do something you don't want to do.

This is mostly coming from my own mind, my partner hasn't expressed disappointment, but he did ask once recently about how I was feeling about the issue, so I like to play the "ask eden" game so that I can be prepared for the conversation when it comes.
