Did anyone have breathing problems after back massages with vibrators?

I've been trying to use vibrators (including vibrating massagers) to massage my back. The problem is that after a couple of minutes into the massage I have some trouble breathing. I don't mean I completely choke, but breathing becomes much more difficult. This happens every time unless I massage only the lowest part of my back, in which case everything is fine. The only health problem I have with my breathing is Da Costa's syndromes.

Does anyone else have breathing issues after back massages? Can you resolve them or does it just mean that using vibrators for back massages is contra-indicated to me?
Any comment would be appreciated.

I have many breathing problems. I have never experienced any problems with the use of vibrators. The syndrome you speak of is caused by anxiety. I would seek medical advise on that part. It may be that you tense up when you massage the upper portion of your back. I would suggest starting out on low vibration, very little pressure and maybe using the side of the vibrator instead of the tip. Slowly work up to what is comfortable to you. Everyone has different likes and dislikes. The main thing is to relax. Find your own happy spot and go with it.

When I use my Hitachi on my upper back, I do notice a sort of tickling happens in my lungs (especially if I lay on my back, with the massager under my shoulder blades) . Sometimes, it is too intense and causes uncontrollable coughing, making it very difficult to breathe. If I can withstand the first 5 minutes or so, the intense feeling subsides. I have always chalked this up to my MS, never occurred to me that it could be something that happens normally. I get regular weekly massage and never experienced problems with vibrations otherwise.

When any kind of pressure or vibration is applied to my back it's like my lungs forget how to work.
I've been like that since I was a kid trying to go under the "water fall" at the swimming pool.
