Ever Dismantled a Toy?

Contributor: Rin (aka Nire) Rin (aka Nire)
I recently had a friend over, and just for fun we took my single (much-hated, over a year old, and just sitting and collecting dust) jelly toy and dissected it. It was interesting - jelly doesn't cut as easily as we thought, and we found that it's actually LESS greasy-feeling on the inside, which was a real shocker. We ended up stealing the bullet out of it, too.

Have you ever had a toy that you didn't like, or was broken, or just really cheap and decided to put it under the knife (or any other kind of purposeful breaking)? Or heck, have you done it to a good toy that you didn't mind replacing?

If you did, why? Because you hated it? To see how it worked? To steal the parts? FOR SCIENCE?!

I guess it is in my blood to figure how things work, whats really cool is when you put them back together and they work.

see, getting the object (whatever it may be) to work when you put it back together is where things get a little sticky for me.... this is why I tend to just leave them be, lol

Ditto - many times, kinda a guy thing to want to know how something works - and why they fail.

I'm completely un-mechanical! I wouldn't even know where to begin to take it apart or put it back together even if I wanted to.

On purpose no, accidentally yes. But I would like too, only if it's broken though

On accident I've broken a few craptasticly made toys. Hmmm, what you did gives me an amusing idea for a jelly toy I have....

Either that or I'm selling that shit on ebanned. I'm seriously thinking about it. Lol

My partner has a degree in electrical engineering and has modified some of my older, out-of-use toys for more va-voom. Does that count?

I haven't done it, but there are a few things that I have in my collection that I don't use and it would be fun to experiment on them

Seems like a waste of a good toy. Now if it's already broken thats another story.

I haven't yet, but I think I'll try this weekend on one of my vibes that I don't like. I'm curious now!

I've torn up a few toys in my day to either make them more comfortable to use or to steal parts out of them. It's how I ended up with one of my favorite bullet vibes. I stole it from a vibrating hollow strap on. Tossed the dildo and kept the harness.

When my first Rabbit bit the dusk, I tore that mofo apart. Its more amazing on the inside than the outside, and I can now appreciate why they are usually starting at the $60 mark!

Yes, usually to repair a vibrator that no longer vibrated. Not in a long time though, I've learned that with better quality toys they don't fail so quickly.

Although, for some products higher price does not necessarily mean better quality.

Yes, I did that same thing. I used a pocket knife to cut a bullet out of a jelly toy because I liked the vibrations but not the outer material.

All the time. I revise toys that do not work and try to make a great toy out of them.As a matter of fact,I just made an ejaculating penis out of an old penis pump and an old bullet dildo. Pretty cool!

I would dissect a neglected toy that seemed like it would be fun to.

The first time was totally unintentional, though, the toy kind of dismantled itself...
