Ever Dismantled a Toy?

Contributor: null null
I love taking things apart and toys are no exception!
Normally when I find salvageable parts they go to my little brother...not in this case. "Hey where'd you get all these tiny motors?" 'Ummmm...'

Yesterday, as a matter of fact. I gutted my old rabbit. Last time I inserted it it stung me and it didn't have any redeeming qualities besides the sentimental value so it was on it's way to the bin. Now I have a 4 AA bullet full of Duracell batteries. The regulator on this thing is from a set of head-phones - another mad engineer story.

I also chopped up another rabbit to fix it a couple of years ago. Worked for a short time because the construction made it easy for the wires to detach again. I can now make another bullet out of the carcass.

One of mine died and I figured 'what the hell, might as well see how these things work'...the fun part was trying to figure out how to put it back together again.

I once broke a jelly vibe because I was too rough with it. Afterward I took it all the way apart and studied it.

Not as such. I have gone as far as I can with being able to put it back together again so it still works.

I took apart a Wahl yesterday. (Under the advice and tutelage of DWTim. )

It started making a loud noise and he thought maybe there would be a switch (I think he said this) to control the vibration. I actually bought a set of little screw drivers to do this, as people take mine from my tool kit and then I can't find them.

Anyway, the Wahl is very interesting inside. (I'll have to do it again and post a picture.) There are really no moving parts, no "bullet" like in a regular vibrator. There is a switch to turn it on on the outside and wires and a "coil vibrator" which is copper wire wrapped many times around a spool. There was not, however, a switch of any kind to control it or alter the strength from the inside. I wasn't able to fix it. I did but a new one (with heat!) but it doesn't feel as strong as my old one. I think the old one actually got stronger as it started to break down. I LIKED IT like that, until it started with the noise.

Oh well.

I did once, it was ugly rubber dido, so just for the heck of it - shaved it with the knife, made it really thin with giant head
