Has your So told you to turn the lights off?

While on vacay I tried to get it on with my hubby when all of a sudden he told me to turn the lights off, which in return TOTALLY turned me off instantly.

Now we normally have the lights off BECAUSE it's really late and we just got all the kiddos in bed and normally we have been laying in bed for a min.. So we have not had the lights on much.. But it really offended me that he was like " turn off the lights first" while I was trying to turn him on...

would you be offended?

I wouldn't be offended. I like to be in the dark/low-light.

I don't think I'll be offended, and occasionally we'll have the lamps on, and we're both fine with it.

Why don't you ask your husband what the reason was to have the lights off, instead of getting all upset about it? Maybe he's just not used to doing it under the bright lamp anymore. Do you have a nightlight in your room?

I agree you should ask what the reasoning is. I ask for the lights off (we leave a small bathroom light on) all the time. The big light on gives me headaches and distracts me during sex. I still think my husband is sexy even if I want the lights dimmed. If I want to be able to see more, say, if we're pegging or doing something I want more of a visual on, then I turn on the closet light as well so it's brighter but not in my eyes. If I don't crack the door just right to stop the bright light from coming in, hubby will stop me and get up and close it more. The bright lights get to him sometimes, too. There's plenty of reasons to ask for the lights off that shouldn't be offensive at all.

I agree also, maybe he just has gotten used to the fact that you do it in the dark.
The best way to know is to ask him

My hubby is a man of routine, I can't seem to have spontaneous sex during the day. When he actually wants sex, it's at night, in the dark, right before we fall asleep. I want some spontinatey (sp?) but for now I'm in the dark!!

I wouldn't be offended, but I haven't ever had someone say this to me. I would probably just laugh and say, "No."

I enjoy humiliation far too much.

I wouldn't be offended, but kind of put off/taken aback and thus distracted.

But it would have also depended on the tone of his voice and how he worded it.

Yeah I agree. You might try asking him. It could be he is self conscious when they are on and wants to make sure he can please you. I use to have a guy who wouldn't do anything with any lights on at all cuz he didn't like the way he looked naked.
