There was a recent discussion about toy collections and having a "mind of their own". It got me thinking...

I have a fairly large collection but have recently been weeding through the items to get rid of the ones that don't get used often or didn't work well for me. I'm starting to feel like less really is more.

We all have different reasons for why we keep a large collection. My poll isn't asking how you have such a big collection but WHY. Are you just a collector? You like the variety? You have a hard time parting with a toy?

I like to have a variety myself with different sizes,textures and functions. Really depends on my mood depends on what I grab.

Mostly variety. I get bored using the same few toys, even if they are really good. When I have a lot of toys, I can come back to each one and fall in love with them all over again! I don't buy a lot of clothes, shoes etc. Toys are my thing

I collect glass toys.... even have a pretty display case in my bedroom! Other toys, I hold onto for the sake of variety.

I buy expensive toys and sometimes I rather keep the $100 toy than get rid of it.

I use a lot of different toys. Even if a toy isn't my favorite for personal use, if a partner likes it then I'll keep it to use on them. Also, there's no way to know what a future partner might like so I'll hang on to stuff cause it may get used then.

I recently got rid of a big chunk of my collection. Honestly it felt pretty good to do it. I reduced it to about 15 toys, after starting with around 50. I'd like to get it under 10, but I'm getting to a point where there aren't any more that I want to part with.

I don't really have any particular reason for having many toys. If something looks interesting, I'm willing to give it a try. I do get rid of some from time to time, though I do keep most of them sitting around.

Ive been getting rid of some. Just threw out like 4 toys...I have them from buying lots of cheap toys when I was younger but not knowing what I actually like. Now I know, and shop wiser so I don't waste toys and money

I don't think I can part with many unless I know they are going to a loving home. I have weeded through my collection but it seems like I only pick 10 toys each time to part with. I like a variety of toys.

I have a lot of toys, but they are all different. Whips all feel different. Restraints need to be different sizes for different places on the body. Different gags do different things. I Think my largish toy collection is because it serves a purpose. I try not to buy doubles of anything. And if it is the same thing (such as a butt plug) I get it in a different material (glass, silicone, metal).

I like the variety. I generally don't get rid of toys unless I really, really don't like them (though there have been exceptions). Plus toys are just fun to collect!

I like having a variety, but I also just don't get rid of them. I need to get rid of a few that I have used once then hated but they usually just go on the bottom of the drawer.

I guess I collect them. I won't get rid of things unless they're broken. I keep things I don't like because I like having a large collection.

I also like having a variety, though I usually rotate between the same few. lol

I wouldn't say my collection is a large one. There's still plenty of toys I want to try out so my toy collection will be expanding. But I try to stay away from too similar toys.

I like having a wide variety to choose from, but if something is absolutely awful then I will throw it out, or if something is decent but I just don't like it I'll sterilise it and offer it to someone who may have a use for it. I won't keep stuff just for the sake of it.
