Lights on or off? What do you prefer and why? I really like a soft glow, I like to know what I'm doing.. however, I had mind blowing sex once where it was pitch black and absolutely silent... all my senses were heightened.

We love the light streaming in through the window... much more attractive than the harsh overheads!
But I do love pitch black sex too - like you it definitely heightened my senses and his, plus it adds this sexy mysterious feeling to the whole thing, which is hot!

I keep my bedside reading lights on. They give a soft glow (30watt light bulbs). I like to be able to see him. Overhead lighting tends to be too harsh.

We usually keep the bathroom light on with the door ajar to provide some light but not directly overhead as to be distracting.

My first preference is candle light as I don't think any light looks better on skin. I also have dimmable track lighting in my bedroom that I point along the ceiling, turn the brightness down and it is softly reflected off the high gloss ceiling...that creates a very sexy glow as well, though nothing can replace candles for me.

Low light, but not complete darkness. In addition to being able to see my partner, I like being able to see where the edge of the bed/toys/random cat that snuck in are placed!

depends on the sex i think. it varies. usually beside lamps is the way it goes, but candlelight and bright lights and pitch black all have their place.
i think it fun to go in cycles where you have lights on until it's normal and then it's sexy to do it in the dark for a change and etc.

I'll do it just about any way, but my personal preferences tend to be very dim lighting or a little bit of natural night. I like doing it in the dark for the sensory reasons. I really don't like doing it with overhead lights on, though; I think they are very unflattering, and it really kills the mood.

Candles are great because not only do they set the mood but you can also get them flavored to fit you own tastes for smell and they come in different sizes. So you can mix and match as you choose. Otherwise pitch black or natural light as has been mentioned above.

I just recently purchased the Shunga Massage Candle. link It's awesome for use during sex. We leave it burning during the act. The candlelight is very pretty & the fruit smells really good. After, we blow it out, my partner pours it on me, and I get a nice massage in the dark.

By myself i luv dim lighting or the glow of my TV screen. Sometimes with a partner darkness is ok esp during the night but usually a dim light. Candles scare me though.

I am a wimp, I'm afraid of the dark. Mostly BC I don't know whats happening in it. hehe
So I would totally want some kind of light from somewhere. Just enough so you can see outlines of things so you can make out whats what inside the room.
Ever since I heard that story about that crazy lady that cut off her husbands penis I don't think I could do it in the dark or wear a blindfold. I'm to afraid... Especially if I was tied up.

I still freak out about that stupid movie Alien ever since I saw it I've been piss scared sitting in my bed alone waiting for an alien to get me... I mean fall asleep...

We usually have dim lights. The security light comes in the window to give off just enough to be able to make out images. Sometimes I will burn a candle and it gives off a little light. Sometimes we do like it pitch dark but usually there is some light coming in. I like to have a blindfold on sometimes but hubby isn't into that too much.

Usually dimmish light, occasionally candles or fireplace glow, sometimes the overhead light, but that's usually when we forget to turn it off.

Sometimes I like some dim lights on and sometimes I like it pitch black, though my eyes usually adjust to the pitch black.
About a year and a half ago, I was taken advantage of by a "friend" while Jared and I were on the outs a bit and I was heavily under the influence of alcohol and drugs. It was a while until I was able to have sex with Jared in the complete dark 'cause I'd have flash backs. I'm better now though

Definately lights off & silent when I'm here at home. I want to relax completely & lose myself in the moment. With a household of 6 & all the chaos & noise that comes with it, the last thing I want to do is see the pile of laundry that I was too tired to put away, the baby bottle that didn't make it to the sink or any other reminder of my tomorrow's to-do list. If however we are away, I can really enjoy the moon light coming in through the window or a nice scented candle setting the mood.

The lights are not that big of a deal to me, although I am a fan of using candle light in certain romantic situations. I do think there is a big difference between daytime sex and night time sex, and the lights being on kind of keep it in that daytime realm, at least for me. Daytime sex is great, no complaints here. Now think about when you are alone and masturbating, light or dark, unless I am terribly mistaken, your eyes are closed. I find that it is a lot harder to relax, let go, and drift out of your surroundings when it is well lit. I don't really see the lights being off as me not being able to see anything, but since I cannot see anything it adds to the feeling of what is going on.

I need a little light. When we keep the light on, it's our signal for saying "I want something before sleep!" We have a dimmer for our bedroom. I am a pretty visual and I like to see what is going on. But not too much! We hate bright light in any part of our house (much to the dismay of some guests.)
I feel really weird hearing what sounds me make without seeing the bodies that make them. I find it more embarrassing to just be heard. Sometimes my significant other likes to change it up for the novelty, but it's very rare.

At night I like the dark for a few reasons. Top reason being if a kid were to stumble in the room in the middle of the night they can't see anything we could be doing but also because I'm so much more aware of every little detail, every touch, whisper everything is enhanced in the dark. Sometimes we use a candle but at some point it's usually blown out.
During the day well there's plenty of light so...yeah that works too.
