I actually got my first toy here! I talked to a friend about where I should look and this was where she suggested, the reviews and awesome people here that answer questions honestly and thoughtfully made my decision easy and I was really happy with my first buy

My first actual toy (as in not a repurposed household item) was purchased at Babeland in Manhattan, right after I moved into my apartment. I wanted to treat myself especially because I no longer had to share a room with others like in a dorm!
It was a plain old' silver bullet and it lasted for 3 years with fairly intense use. After it died, I bought an identical one. : )

I got mine from a sex shop near where my mother used to live. It was my high school graduation day, but I'd opted not to go to the ceremony and instead went and got a vibrator - something I'd been wanting for a few years prior. My mother came along and helped me pick out a vibe and some lube (which was really nice of her, since she seemed a little uncomfortable being there with me), and I was very happy with the purchase.
It was a smooth, blue plastic vibe with a turn-dial base. I've still got it, but it doesn't work too well anymore. I keep it more for the nostalgia.

I was in high school and I had very little cash but I wanted to get something with as much functions as I could get. It was 2004 in Poland so the market mostly consisted of overpriced jelly. I didn't know about phthalates then. I was trolling a couple of on-line stores when one added a rabbit at a less than half the price of the item (there were about 3 different entries with the same toy, different price). That I could afford. I ordered it, gave my Gran's address for shipping and run off to the post office to send money. In two weeks I was bulging my eyes out at the size of the thing (actually it was a standard size for a rabbit).
