I saw the post about traveling with toys on a road trip, but I was wondering about airplanes. Hopefully I didn't make a multiple post on this subject.

My husband and I are going to be taking a cruise, sometime hopefully in the next 6 months. We will be flying from our home state to Florida to get on the cruise of course. For one, I have never flown in my life and I'm terrified. But I also and worried about how to pack.

So can someone or all of you, please give me tips on traveling with sex toys on airplanes? Carry on or checked baggage? Can things like that even be taken on flights? If we would put them in like small zippered bags that aren't see through, would they open them? I'm not sure how to pack clothes or bathroom products for a flight, let alone sex toys!

Also, if anyone has been on a cruise before, do they check your bags before getting on the boat? Are you able to take sex toys on a cruise? Any suggestions for packing sex toys for a flight AND cruise?

I had no trouble putting them in the checked baggage (the kind that gets stored in the belly of the plane, right?) I wouldn't put them in carry on, I mean why would I have them in there? No reason to (at least for me.) But then again I put all toiletries in my checked baggage.

If you are taking toys on a plane I would put them in your checked luggage. Granted it may get check, but at least that way it is just another bag. If they should happen to go through your carry-on you will have to stand right there owning up to it in front of everyone in line.
As for cruises, yes you can take them on board, and no they don't get checked. Have fun!

Definatley put them in your checked bag. It will get X-rayed but the TSA and airline folks have seen it all. Your dildo, vibes, harnesses, etc...aren't going to shock them at all. They prob see dozens if not hundreds a day. We always pack ours in our checked bag and have never had any issues. (we've been international too and it was no different) Check them and you'll be fine. Also do yourself a favor and check your toiletries too. If your going to check a bag you may as well. Then you don't have to worry about the size of your containers.

I personally hate checking luggage because the people who work for the airlines aren't always the most careful when they're chucking your luggage around. I've had quite a few good suitcases that have been badly damaged (cracked corners, wheels broken off) after being checked. So I prefer taking everything with me when I board the plane. I think you're allowed one carry-on suitcase and a large bag (or instrument case)? As for your toiletries, link pretty much lists all the important information.

Anyway, I haven't taken any large/obvious sex toys with me on my air travels, but I've been able to get plenty of discreet toys, like my Incognito Lipstick vibe across without so much as a hitch. My recommendation would be to store them with the batteries taken out to prevent confusion when your bag starts buzzing. Also, if they have to open your bag to check out what's going on inside, then it's not the end of the world. Everyone's got somewhere they need to be going, no one is really enjoying the airport, everyone's probably some level of stressed... Even if they remember that you got a dildo pulled out of your bag by the end of the day, they won't know who you are. And if it amused them, then good for you, you made that day a little more bearable for that person.

Now if you're travelling with conservative parents... Yeah, you may want to just stick those toys in your checked luggage.

I definitely won't need them on my carry on. Haha. I just wasn't sure which would be easier to get through security without too much embarassment.

I'm not sure how much we're taking and all that, but if we do have checked baggage, then it will definitely go in there. I've never flown, so I just am not sure how it all works, and I don't want my first time flying to be a disaster embarassment. Haha. Hopefully you're right though about them seeing stuff like that all day long and hopefully they won't really care!

Definitely not traveling with parents. It will be just me and hubby!
