I am extremely new to alot of this and have a hard time bringing certain topics up to my wife. does anyone else have this problem and how did you correct or fix it?

We've been experimenting with sex toys off and on for a long time now. However, I still get really nervous using them with him and I'm not sure why. We've been married going on 15 years so you'd think I wouldn't have this problem anymore.

Maybe, you could set up an intimate and romantic night with her where you both discuss your fantasy and usage of new items?

Write it down - clearly - of what you'd like to try. Writing is less intimidating than saying it out loud. Have her read it and then she can either write back (if she's also too intimidated to speak) or respond verbally (it's usually the breaching of the subject that is most difficult). At some point, you may try reading your request out loud yourself so you can get used to saying it.
