I think you have a legitimate feeling, that is difficult to express. Even though we mostly have sterilizable dildos, I'm psychologically uncomfortable with the idea of my wife using a dildo vaginally after I've used it anally. This after more than two decades of monogamous, vasectomized , condomless sex.

So that means very expensive double purchases if we both like the toy, which has driven us to a more economical, yet oddly psychologically acceptable, middle ground: bulk purchases of condoms.

No. I have borrowed and lent, but never traded for good.

However, I would consider a trade in the unlikely circumstance that I purchased something completely new and unreturnable, had buyers remorse, and then found someone who was in the exact same situation with a toy that I wanted. Unlikely, but who knows?

I've given and gotten new toys when I'm seeing someone, and given a few new toys to some repressed friends who are too shy to go to a store to buy one. Don't think I'd be comfortable trading used toys, even though they're sterilized, the imagery of one of my friends having used it before me would make me feel a little ish.

I'm not entirely sure if I would accept a used toy, though if it were sterilizable, or especially steel or glass, I would be more likely to.
Every now and then I think of thinning out my (not entirely large) collection, and would rather sterilize and give away something than throw it away. It seems like a friendlier option.

I would have a real hard time using a borrowed toy. I know it would be cleaned properly, but I have an active imagination and Im bit of a germ-a-phob. I would only be thinking about "what could be on it" rather then what the toy was doing with me.

I got the Fun Factory Share and the Maverick through toy trades! (For the Share I traded a couple small, silicone dildos I didn't like, and I traded the Randy for the Maverick). Fortunately I have a friend who is as much of a toyaholic as I am, and she has access to medical-grade sterilization stuff!

Never done that but I would be open to it so long as both toys in question have never been used or are made from material that is 100% sterilizable like steel, glass, or silicone.

My wife and I have two good friends who don't mind receiving used toys, as long as they are sterilizable and made of glass or silicone. So we both give toys away all the time. However, my wife can't stand the thought of a used toy so we do not accept them.
