How important is weight?

Contributor: sweetpea12 sweetpea12
My weight has fluctuated my whole life. I have the worlds slowest metabolism, so I'm constantly going from extreme to extreme. At the moment I am at my highest weight ever. As I prep for a whole new diet and exercise plan I worry how important it is to be skinny. know I'll never be tiny but I don't want to be overweight because diabetes and heart disease runs in my family big time. So as I set my goal I wonder should I go for health related goals or a specific size and weight?? How important is weight when it comes to attracting sexual partners? Sorry Im all over the place, but I'll take any advice I can get.

I've been all over the place weight-wise, and have had an eating disorder for several years. I've been underweight and plus-sized, and throughout all of my sizes I haven't really had trouble finding partners. Different people are attracted to different body sizes and types, so it is better to try and be healthy for yourself rather than to attract a partner.

No matter how big or small someone will want you
I haven't even been tiny my sizes have ranged from 16-24 and at all those sizes someone wanted me and loved me

I agree, no matter what your weight there is always someone who will find you attractive!

Personally I find thin men/women more unattractive than someone with a little meat on their bones, I know some people who prefer rail-thin partners, and others who like those on a heavier side.

So tastes for such things are really across the board.

Just do what makes you feel comfortable and happy, rather than having concerns about pleasing others. When you are comfortable with yourself, you'll attract people to you like a magnet

I would set just for the health benefits and the skinniness will just be a plus. I am a chubby chaser so being overweight isn't going to turn me off lol If someone won't screw you or love you because of how you look then they're not worth your time and emotion. It'd be like me saying I wouldn't be with someone because they have red hair.

TOTALLY AGREE on the being comfortable with yourself! Confidence is a BIG factor in whether I find someone attractive!

I am about 5'5", at my lightest I been around 130, and around 150 at my heaviest. My boyfriend has always told me that I am sexy and beautiful at all times.

You should try to eat healthy and stay active. If you do both and your weight should be just fine no matter what it is.

Don't worry about finding someone that will take you if your skinny or not. Focus on you, an your own goal to be healthy and comfortable.

There is someone out there for you that won't care at all how heavy or skinny you are.

For myself, very important. For others, not important
