I try to give them equal air time, but usually one ends up at the bottom of the sock drawer for a while.

Electronics should always be recycled. If it has the logo of a trash bin with an X through it, that means don't throw it in the landfill. Most cities have facilities for them, even though they aren't picked up in the regular recycling collection.
If there aren't any electronic parts, then I toss them. I don't see any reason to keep something around I don't use.
