Decadence by Vivid - review by Recalcitrantem

Longevity. Very, very long scenes. (Seriously, it's two hours long.)

There are several music video-style interludes showcasing the actresses who you see in more detail later. Some, the music fits all right. The first one stuck out like a sore thumb, though, with rock/electronic music that sounded similar to Korn.

I found Decadence relatively vanilla. It's split into three parts. Each of the three parts is narrated in what is supposed to be a "First-Person Experience." The narrator is the only person who is regularly audible. Sometimes he reaches into the frame and participates, especially in the first part.

Part one begins in a bedroom that's open to the outdoors. The girl is constantly given instructions from the narrator, spoken as though to a small child. It felt forced and awkward. Most of the time when a shot changes, it is split with this horrible, loud static screen for just a second, but long enough that it made me jump a few times. She uses a couple glass dildos alone, then with the help of the narrator. They then add another guy into the mix. My biggest gripe throughout is that the girl loudly spits constantly, on the guy's penis, on the guys hand. Seriously, loudly. Any time she gets loud, the sound gets fuzzy as well. There are moments where it actually seems intimate, and that she's really enjoying herself, but then she notices the camera on her face, looks at it and pastes on this ridiculous fake smile. The toe sucking happens in part one, also, which I could have done without! Toward the end, the guys start yelling and cheering like frat boys; the non-narrating guy finishes in her mouth and on her face; what was in her mouth she spits out all over herself.

Part two starts after another music video segueway. It has the same narrator and the same bad sound. This segment seemed less fake; one couple starts playing with another watching, then the other couple joins in. The girls sound much more realistic in the second part. The toys get more ridiculous.

Part three has an older actress (not old, just older than the other two, I think). Same narrator. Same bad sound. The narrator reminded me of some high school kid that got his hands on a camera and make himself some porn. This part has the only story mentioned in the ENTIRE video - they tried to get other girls to use a ridiculously huge, comically huge dildo. Seriously, the thing was as big around as a beer stein. There is some double penetration in this one.

The bonus materials actually seem to have a higher sound quality than the video itself. There's an interview with Maya Hills, the girl that's on the DVD cover. There's a small photo gallery, 20 minutes of trailers (there was better story in the first trailer than in the whole 120 minutes of the feature), and some internet websites.
