When I watch porn, I tend to favor the films made for women over those made for men. A Playgirl film seemed worth a try given that it was marketed primarily to women and, indeed, there were some things that Deep Indulgences did very well. I loved the voice over at the beginning and during scenes in which women with sexy voices talked about their fantasies as we watched the actors and actresses begin to enact them. I love watching porn but often get frustrated by the lack of plot or emotion in it and tend to turn to written erotica to satisfy those desires. Deep Indulgences blended the two fairly well and I appreciated that. Though it limited how much of the sex noises you could hear and I missed hearing more of the sex itself. With ten shorter scenes rather than the 4-5 longer ones which other porn tend to present, I enjoyed the variety of plot lines and sexual dynamics present in the film.

I was also impressed by the portrayal of women in the film. The women, though not excessively racially diverse, nonetheless were distinguishable from one another, unlike the cookie-cutter, big-breasted blondes who star in some other films and tend to give me whiplash as I try to follow which one is which in a given scene. Whether you like large breasts or small, blonde hair or brunette, you’ll find a woman to enjoy watching in this film. With that said, like most other porn, this one unfortunately did not portray women who were larger than, say, size 8.

With respect to acting, I was also pleased (though not entirely satisfied) by the women in Deep Indulgences. They seemed to actually enjoy the sex, and if they were faking the orgasms, they were doing a much better job than women in other films. The women in the films took charge at moments, holding a man’s head down as he ate pussy in a fantastic switch-around of the classic moment in which a man holds a woman’s down on his cock.

The men impressed me somewhat less. Although they were by many standards “hot,” they were a little more cookie-cutter-buff-boy than I could have wished for. They were uniformly mostly-hairless and super muscled. It was ironic when in one scene; a male statue came to life, since in many of the scenes the men tend to have flat affect and statue-like enthusiasm. They thrusted. They grunted. They came. Whoop dee doo.

With all that said, the sex was hot. I’m plenty attracted to buff-boy and hot-girl types, even if I was unconvinced by the buff-boy personality types. Each of the couples’ scenes (and the one threesome!) had chemistry, multiple positions, and all the sex acts (fellatio, cunnilingus, intercourse) that I’ve come to expect from a porn scene. The shorter scenes meant that I never got bored and needed to fast-forward through minutes 10-22 of one couple fucking away monotonously (as tends to happen in many porn).

At the end of the day, Deep Indulgences didn’t blow my mind with the creativity of any one scene but it came together as a film to offer a diverse array of plot lines and couples who turned me on. It’s likely to please those folks (women or men!) who are frustrated by standard straight porn and are looking for something with a little more plot and emotion.
