Fighters by Digital Playground - review by SkylarrStarr

I was SUPER excited when I was approved to review The Fighters from Digital Playground, even more so after Jesse Jane's win for Best Supporting Actress at this year's AVN Awards. This film even interested me more as it was the catalyst for a huge cat fight between Jesse Jane and newbie Bibi Jones. The Fighters also debuted on heels of the Oscar nominated film The Fighter, which features a similar story line and production design. What follows is my review, as well as some interesting film facts. Hope you enjoy!

The Fighters came as the 3 disc Combo Pack, which includes the Feature, a Bonus Disc and a Blu-Ray Copy of the film. The Box is very sleek, with all five female stars featured on the cover, as well as inside the gate folds of the box, all in super sexy boxing poses.

The Fighters is a porn for film nerds, as my boyfriend and I are. It was shot in HD on the RED Camera. The RED is basically a super hi-def camera, which produces a very high quality, filmic image and look in a digital format. If you have a blu-ray player, view the film on it, not on your regular DVD player, as this will showcase the film in it's intended 1080p quality.

Digital Playground spent some bucks on The Fighters. The production value is very high with well thought out sets and costumes. The Fighters is director Robby D.'s latest addition to a line up of big budget Hollywood Style films from Digital Pictures, including Top Guns and Body Heat. There is a nice cool, blue look to the lighting in the school scenes with Jesse and Riley Steele as well as in the scenes at their home. The fighting scenes, both in the school and at the boxing ring are warmer, as are the scenes with Kayden and Stoya.

In addition to the excellent production value, The Fighters also showcases the acting of three stars in particular: Jesse Jane, Kayden Kross and Tommy Gunn. All three did an amazing job and I am looking forward to seeing more.

Jesse and Riley are sisters brought up on the wrong side of the tracks. They live with their father, Tommy. Kayden is a rich brat with an absentee father who tries to fix that fact with money and gifts. Jesse is constantly in trouble and school and a nasty cat fight with Bibi leads to Jesse serving her detention out a the same boxing gym which Kayden attends. Both girls struggle with opinions of family and friends as they pursue their boxing training. The film culminates in a boxing match between Jesse and Kayden. And in between all this, lots of sex! My favorite scene was Jesse Jane and Scott Nails, which takes place in the boxing ring. Super hot and super passionate! I also enjoyed the Riley Steele/Ramon Nomar scene and both scenes featuring Kayden. There was great chemistry in those scenes, lots of sweaty, sexy action. The other scenes were good as well, but they felt a little long, and less enthusiastic. I was not happy to get to the end of the film without a single G/G or G/G/B scene, however. Just one scene of that nature would have broken up the story a bit and added some interest, as it did get a bit repetitive toward the end of the 3 hours. The Special Features also left a little to be desired. There was no bonus scene, which was a bummer, and the BTS was a bit weak. But don't let that turn you off...the film itself is worth it!

As film geeks, my boyfriend and I enjoyed this film quite a bit. Even though it got a bit long a points, and the sex was a bit vanilla, it was still a great film. This is not a porn for folks looking for hardcore action, group sex or G/G scenes. I would recommend this for die hard Jesse fans, as she is just awesome! This would also be a good first porn for a couple to watch together, as it has a good story as well as lots of good, old fashioned hetero sex. I am looking forward to seeing more porn with thus type of story and production value. Cheers, Digital Playground!

Oh, yeah, still sexy a second time around! My Boyfriend was very glad I introduced him to Riley Steele. (Yummy!) We are looking forward to more films from Digital Playground.
