La Femme Chanel by Vivid - review by BrokeNHorny

The best thing that I can say about this film is that it looks very professional. This is not your average thrown together in a weekend porn, or at least it did not appear to be. It really seemed like someone put a lot of time and effort to give this movie a professional edge. The content doesn't really hold up the movie, but it is executed flawlessly.

There doesn't seem to be a unifying story or chain of events, but there is a visual tone and theme that is present throughout. It looks to be some sort of wild west or ranch locale. This leads to the first two scenes acting out something of a horse fetish that was a little out of place. The first scene is shot in a stable and one of the actresses is gagged using a horse bit. The second scene has the ladies in full head harnesses pulling a guy in a small carriage. Fortunately, the carriage scene can be skipped by hitting the next button and going to the action. Although, one of the actresses does tease herself anally with a riding crop. Its perfectly fine to include this kind of content in a film, but it's not listed anywhere. There is a picture on the back showing a riding hat and crop, but it didn't give me the sense that this kind of content would be included. It caters to a very specific fetish that could turn off a lot of people if not properly advised. The remaining four scenes take place in generic wild west locations.

The costume design really shines through. The outfit that Chanel St. James wears, shown on the cover, really works. It combines a lot of chains and sparkly jewelry with a black leather aesthetic that is a delight to see. A lot of the lingerie is designed to complement the environment and make the actresses stand out. Lela Star's pink lingerie feels a little out of place, but she removes it very quickly.

The film quality and filming style is top notch. The picture looks great, with lots of detail visible. There are camera angles shown in here that must have taken lots of planning and more than a little acrobatics by the acting crew, but its worth it. There are a lot of close ups, and cool angles that show you what is going on.

The DVD formatting is good as well. Each chapter marker represents a different position or change in the action. The neat thing is that each break is listed in the scene selection and labeled. It makes it very easy to skip to what you want to see, without having to remember numbers or watch short previews. The special features are mostly a wash. There is behind the scenes footage, and some content that got edited out, including two solo masturbation scenes. These don't really add much, and the solo scenes are really short. Additionally, the box lists bloopers, but I honestly did not see it anywhere.

The real flaw of this movie is the content. With a good cast, Chanel St. James, Celeste Star, Katalina Samora, Lela Star, Rebecca Linares, Diana Doll, and Veronica Jett, it should have aspired to more. There is very little variety to the content, and other than the horse themed stuff, never strays from mainstream. Much credit to director Bill Fisher, but there just isn't good variety of material here to hold up the great technicals of the movie. On a side note, I may be a little spoiled, but the majority of the actresses have breasts on the smaller side. Not a huge deal, but something I did notice.

Overall, its a great film. The content is a little bland, but the visuals are excellent, and it looks professional. If you're a fan of good filming, or horse themes, buy this film.
