Perfect pair toothbrush - gags discontinued by Pipedream - review by dlw

Want a fun gift for your couple friends? Maybe newlyweds or a couple living together? Tired of your partner using YOUR toothbrush? Maybe colors don't matter, but having his and her body shapes might get their attention.

The Perfect Pair toothbrushes come on a cardboard card attached with plastic. On the front of the package it says "The Perfect Pair," has a male and female symbol, and has his/hers written down the front. That's it... no other writing on the card, but hopefully you don't need instructions on how to use a toothbrush.
This set includes 2 brushes; one shaped like a man's body in clear red plastic and one with a woman's figure in clear blue, so this is obviously intended for a man/woman pair. You can decided which person gets which figure.

MEASUREMENTS:
The brush is 7 inches tall.
The brush head is 1.5 inches tall by .5 inches wide by .75 inches out (sticking out including bristles}. There are approximately 600 bristles (4 columns, 10 rows, with about 16 bristles in each bunch).
The bristles are medium (not hard, not soft).
For fun-- The dude's feet: .75 inches long by .5 inches wide. The chick's feet are slightly shorter, but hardly noticeable and same width. Boobies: .5 inches out. Penis: .25 inches long.
The body proportions are quite generous!

QUALITY:
This is obviously a gag item, so the toothbrush bristles and quality probably aren't up to the standards your dentist would approve. If you have sensitive gums, I'd recommend you think twice about actually using this item. These might be fun to take on a short vacation or a camping trip when you don't want to pack up your electric toothbrush and its charging station.

Both figures have feet at the end of the brush, but on the ones I have there is a bump on the plastic seam which won't allow it to stand upright on the counter. You might be able to file those down to make the bottom flat if you really care about making the brushes stand next to each other on the bathroom sink.

MY THOUGHTS:
The Perfect Pair toothbrush set is funny. It would be perfect to give to friends who are moving in together, or as a gag in a wedding gift. It is definitely for a pair with a sense of humor. The brushes are cheap, but so is the price.

I slipped this into the wedding gift for my friend from college. (Yeah, it wasn't the main gift... that might not go over well). They sent me an email with a photo of the two of them brushing their teeth together with their new brushes in Mexico. I was told the brush is just like any generic toothbrush you buy at the store when you're in a jam or forget yours on a trip. They reported to me that the quality factor is low, but the laugh factor was high with this set... and that is what I was going for!

I gave the toothbrushes away as a gift. I can't imagine they are still using them after 2 months...no good brush lasts that long. The novelty of the brushes will live on forever though.
