The Phil Varone Sex Stix are ideal for both couple and solo play. You get two vibrating "drumsticks" which can be used for almost any type of stimulation, especially clitoral. I wouldn't recommend using them for anal, because they cannot be fully sanitized and do not have a flared base, but everything else is a go. I particularly liked using them for nipple play, as the heads of the drumsticks are perfect for pinpointing your nipples or clit.

They can also be used for penetration, but will not satisfy size queens. When inserted, the Sex Stix can be used for some light G-spot stimulation, but don't expect the accuracy or give of traditional G-spots toys. I used one on my clit and one on my G-spot during solo play and was very pleased. For a novelty toy, the vibrations of the Phil Varone Sex Stix are surprisingly strong. The vibrations are strongest in the head, but can be felt in the entire shaft and may be a bit hand numbing for some. At the highest setting, the Sex Stix are somewhat loud, especially when both are being used, but it's nothing that a blanket won't muffle. The Sex Stix are controlled by a slim dial at the base, which rotates separately from the cap that holds the batteries in. At first I was confused because I didn't realize that the dial which controls the vibrations was so small and thought that I had to twist the entire cap. Once I realized this, I found the controls quite convenient and easy to use. Unlike similar vibrators I've used, the dial on the Sex Stix is nicely streamlined, turned smoothly, and did not snag or get stuck on anything. They're also very light, which may not satisfy those who like their toys to have a bit of weight to them. I have only used the Sex Stix a few times and cannot speak to the battery life, but I will say that they are still going strong after easily an hour and a half of use.

The Phil Varone Sex Stix are supposed to be waterproof, but I did not use them in water because I found that the cap on one of the Sex Stix popped off when twisted too far and I did not want to damage the toy. The other Sex Stix sealed securely, but make sure to test the caps before engaging in water play or you may be in for a disappointment.

The Phil Varone Sex Stix can be easily cleaned using soap and water or your favorite toy cleaner. Please note that the plastic will melt, so they cannot be sanitized in boiling water or in the dishwasher. The smooth plastic does not attract dust and can be stored with other toys. You may also store the Sex Stix in the box that they came in, but the box is cardboard and will not stand up much abuse. The box recommends using them with only water based lube, but I don't see a reason not to use them with silicone based lube, at your own risk of course.

The box is covered with not-so-subtle double entendres and is not discreet at all. You could store the Sex Stix in the box they came in if you so desired, but remember that the box is cardboard and not exactly sturdy.

I liked the using the Phil Varone Sex Stix during solo play, but I definitely encourage you to use them with a partner! I tend to use them one at a time in conjunction with another toy during solo play. The vibrations are not strong enough to get me off with only clitoral stimulation, but I'm a bit of a power queen and most women would probably be able to orgasm from the Sex Stix alone.
