For some manipulating the settings on this toy may be an issue due to the design and button placement, imagine two small buttons the size of a small thumbnail facing away from the front of the user, so couples play over solo play makes this toy a lot easier to use as well as more fun for the user. Once inserted this toy can be turned on and cycled through the different settings using two buttons, power and next on the front of the toy.

Best suited for solo play, although couples play is more fun this toy has a tendency to slip out easily unless you are sitting on it which can be uncomfortable making it hard to keep in without a free hand. As far as safety of use goes although this toy has a pretty uniform diameter the curve at the midpoint of the toy creates a curve that makes losing it up there almost a non issue.

Made of a combination of plastic and a PVC material the Dr. Joel Kaplan Versatile prostate stimulator ranks both an 8 and a 2 on the Eden materials safety scale respectively. The control and battery cap part of the toy seems to be the plastic part while the insertable part of the toy seems to be made of the PVC material which unfortunately has the lower safety rating so a condom is recommended during use to cover the material of the toy. The good thing about this material though safety wise is that it is hypo allergenic and both latex and phthalate free.

Although the material is very smooth this toy still offers an interesting curve with slight bulges and little knobby parts on the side of the toy which makes for an interesting experience for the user. One of the things that users may notice is that because of the material there is a slight smell to the toy which can be mostly removed with a good washing before and after use.

The shape allows the toy to be inserted and still curve around from the back to the front of the user so that the toy can be used for solo play without too much trouble for the user to manipulate the buttons. A couple of issues that may arise for some users from the design of this toy is that the part that is inserted may be a bit small for users that are not new to a toy back there and so will easily slip out during use which is a big fun killer. The button placement was also something to get used to as the buttons face away from the user so make sure that you know which button does what otherwise you may turn the toy off instead of turning it up at the proper moment.

With a smaller size, ten inches total length about five insertable and only a two and a half inch circumference this toy is good for beginners although the size could be a bit bigger and have a better design for more experienced users to prevent it from slipping out. Although this toy would be good for travel I would not recommend it for that unless you have a couple of extra batteries for it as you will not find the N type batteries in your local grocery store.

Overall this toy is good for beginners with its smaller size though may be a bit too small for anyone but a beginner. With two buttons one for power and one for advancing to the next setting, and ten different settings ranging from high-med-low constant and a range of different dot dash patterns with varying intensity, this toy provides a lot of settings but not an easy way to get to a specific one without having to cycle through the rest of them to get to the one that you want. The one upside of the controls is that as long as you keep the batteries in your last settings is saved and starts up on that setting which is good if you have a favorite one.

Caring for this toy is pretty easy especially if you use a condom to cover it during use and even if a condom is not used both water and silicone based lubes may be used with the material. Although this toy does state that it is waterproof I would still not completely submerge it in water where the buttons are located or attempt to throw it through the dishwasher to clean it although it does seem to be shower safe. To clean a mild disinfectant solution or toy cleaner spray of your choice may be used. When done using this toy it can be stored in a baggy or in the original container which is an easy open clamshell type of plastic.

One of the great things about this toys packaging is that not only is it easy to open but the package may be used to store the toy after use making it both handy and environmentally friendly. Although the package is not discrete as it shows the toy through clear packaging and states what it is in large letters Eden does a great job of shipping things discreetly.
