Drop the Droplet

If you're looking for a small butt plug, this certainly fits into your search, but it may be better to find something of a little higher quality. This toy is inexpensive, but the materials require the use of a condom for protection which will increase the overall price.

To start this off, this is one of those toys which bears a warning declaring that it is sold as a novelty only, so of course it is inexpensive but made with equally inexpensive materials that may or may not cause cancer. In this case we’ve got PVC loaded with phthalates to act as a plasticizing material. Upon opening the packaging, you will immediately notice a significant chemical smell, which will fade a bit over time but is still noticeable even after several weeks.

Another thing you might notice about the Droplet is that if left on a porous surface the phthalates will leech out of the toy, and into that material. I left it on a piece of paper over night and found what looked like grease stains in the morning. This, and the smell are definite warnings against using the toy without the safety of a condom, both for protection of stopping phthalates from leeching into you and to stop bacteria leeching into the porous material of the toy.

In my experience with using this toy, I found it to be too small; to the point of causing some discomfort. This might seem to be a contradiction, but this was my experience: the neck of the butt plug is shorter than the length of my anal sphincters such that the Droplet is not fully insertable and sits in the interior sphincter, holding it open at the toy’s widest part. Because of this, there was no feeling of presence or fullness, except right in the anus, which I did not completely enjoy. However, this may not be everyone’s experience as I am not a small person and may have an unusually large anal sphincter.

The diminutive size of the plug does have some benefits however, because it makes the toy very easy to insert, especially with the tapered top. This might make it more attractive to anal beginners, but the more experienced may find that the Droplet does not provide the amount of stimulation they are looking for in a butt plug. The base is well shaped and sits comfortably between the cheeks without poking into anything.

Overall, I’d say that the Droplet is made of a poor material, which is more of a hassle than the small payoff of owning this toy. The price may be low, but the added cost of using a condom with each use significantly raises the price over time. Further, I found it to be too small to provide a significant pleasurable presence.

It looks cute but the whole leeching of the chemicals...not really my thing.

Silicone is definitely my favorite; I'm not doing PVC again after this toy.

Great review, thanks....A little birdie told me Doc Johnson is in the beginning stages of using silicone....maybe this will be one of them? If so, I'll take two!
