Tush trainer intermediate - vibrating anal plug discontinued by Cal Exotics - review by geliebt

PACKAGING: I bought this at a local store some time ago, so I unfortunately don’t remember how it was packaged. Sorry, guys!

BATTERIES: The Tush Trainer Intermediate uses two AA batteries, and in my experience it has a good battery life. I don’t tend to use it for extended periods, but I haven't noticed any abnormal power drains. The back of the battery pack is attached, and therefore opens easily but can not become lost, even if it opens during use! I think this is a great feature.

EASE OF USE/OPERATION: This toy is operated by a simple dial control. When it’s all the way down, it turns off, and as the dial goes up the vibrations get higher, so there’s no clear HIGH/MEDIUM/LOW, just a gradual fade from low to high. The dial is easy to turn and has given me no problems.

VIBRATIONS: The vibrations are very good, but they are pretty buzzy rather than rumbly. I don’t mind this much, as it still feels great when inserted. Buzzy vibrations tend to feel pretty good for me anally, anyway, though they kinda irritate clitorally. There isn’t an enormous difference between the high and low settings, but I can clearly feel that there IS a difference. There’s nothing ultra low, as this starts off at a pretty moderate level of vibration. There’s also nothing earth-shatteringly high. Though the highest level is quite good in my opinion, those who like serious vibrations may want to look elsewhere. For anal use, I think the vibrations are great; this toy provides a strong mid-range.
As for the noise level, I think this is a fairly quiet toy. On the lowest level, this can't be heard over some white noise (like a TV) and through two comforters. On the highest setting, this would not be heard through a closed door and white noise. If someone's in the room with you, they’d likely hear this no matter what you’re doing (unless you have the TV or music on loud). However, this is fine to use when you don’t have to worry about someone in the same room hearing it. Keep it under the blankets, or leave the TV on and it'll cover most of the noise.

MATERIAL: This jelly toy has a typical sticky surface, and will easily attract lint/hair, so it's best to keep this in a closed bag or container. You’ll also want to try to keep this from touching other jelly toys, since some can react with each other and cause damage to the toys. The material does have some drag to it, so please don't forget to use your favorite water or silicone based lubricant! The texture is smooth and firm, which makes insertion easy, but there is some give to it still. You can clean this with soap and water, and/or a toy cleaner of your choice. Do not bleach, boil, etc. Jelly is not that tough, not to mention the machinery inside. As this is a porous toy, it can and will harbor bacteria even if you clean it well. Please keep that in mind and use your own discretion when using this toy.

SIZE: At around 3“ long in total, and 4 ½ “ around at the widest point, its size is very beginner-friendly. When I first got it, it was a bit intimidating for me, but I never experienced any pain while using it. (again, do remember to use lube and be patient!)

DESIGN: This plug has swirls around the bulb, but I don't notice any specific feeling when using it. It’s still a very fun toy and I think it feels great, but there’s nothing special about the texture. The overall shape of this plug is awesome. It tapers nicely at the tip to make insertion easy, and tapers again at the neck so that it stays in well. I have not experienced it falling out, personally. But do keep in mind that this is a beginner toy, so if you are used to larger penetration, this likely won’t be so satisfying for you.
I like that the base is flat, but I dislike how very wide around the base is. The flat shape makes it easy to have vaginal sex with the plug inserted, one of my favorite things for sure, but I wish the flare was more of an oval shape to better fit the body. As it is, the base presses a bit against the area around the anus and isn’t really the most comfortable.
One more concern is the placement of the cord. The cord attaches into the plug on the taper, which means that the cord comes directly in contact with the anus, and potentially goes inside. This means that the hole that the cord goes into can harbor extra extra bacteria and ickiness, which I just hate. This is one of the very few things I can not stand about the toy.
Another note on the cord: after some time of owning it, it just seems very thin and I often worry that the cord will break right off where it connects to the toy.


EXPERIENCE: It did take some time and patience (and plenty of lube) to get this inserted for a while after I got this plug, but it has only gotten easier as time has gone on and I’ve used this and other toys more. I would recommend this plug to a beginner, unless of course you feel like it’s not quite the right size for you! It’s small, but not TOO small, so it’s still filling and very satisfying. I love using this while having vaginal sex. It adds a little extra spice and it’s fun for both partners! Bonus!

While I dislike that this toy is made of jelly and therefore I know I'll have to toss it eventually, I just love this thing! I really wish there was a silicone version out there (but of course, I have tons of OTHER anal toys, so no worries!). This is a great size for me and takes very very little preparation to use, the vibrations are strong, though there are no patterns, and it's just fun all around. It hasn't crapped out on me so far, and has held up really really well for being such a cheap toy. This will always be my first love when it comes to anal plugs!
