Use

This is the first toy that I've ever purchased specifically for anal play! As a complete anal beginner, I have to say that Caress is top-notch.

It is a narrow, body-safe silicone probe with a ring at the end. The ring is perfect for keeping a good hold on the toy and maneuvering it to fulfill your deepest desires. While it has a good deal of flexibility, the ring can also keep Caress from being lost in the anal cavity.

Because it is silicone and has no mechanical parts, Caress can be used anywhere. I had a lot of fun with it in the shower. Just be sure to use a nice, thick lube that won't be washed away by the water.

Travel without fear with Caress! There's no risk of vibrations accidentally turning on in your bag and the toy is so small that it's easy to discreetly tuck away from prying eyes.

Material / Texture

The silicone that Caress is made of is sexy, silky and sultry! I can see where this toy got its name, with silicone this soft, I definitely gave it a caress.

The probe is firm enough for easy insertion, but has a bit of flexibility to it.

The one thing that struck me as totally bizarre about Caress were the raised parts. The product page refers to it as a contoured probe. I found that these contours didn't add any stimulation at all while in use. The only thing that they actually do is trap bacteria. This was a very real problem for me. I had to wash Caress a couple of times before I felt sure that it was truly clean. The contours seem to be a poorly thought out part of the design.

The silicone of Caress is actually rather translucent. This is very apparent on the ring, as you can see here.

The ring at the end of the toy is quite flexible. Check out the photo below.

Design / Shape / Size

In the past I've found myself feeling very intimidated about anal play. How on earth could I possibly take anything up there?! Let alone some of the monsters that I see out in the sex toy world.

I set out to find a toy to ease myself into anal play. I looked for something simple, slender and above all, non-intimidating. There's a real level of fear here that I've never experienced in any other sex act. I wanted to start slowly.

When I received Caress, I knew right away that I had made the correct decision. Caress is a very narrow probe, it has a circumference of 2 1/2 inches and is uniform in width from head to shaft. The head is gently rounded and the ring at the end is excellent for keeping the probe at the depth that you feel most comfortable.

Something about being able to nestle Caress in the palm of my hand helps me see it as a gentle friend and not a scary intruder.

Caress is a totally gender neutral toy. It can be used comfortably by people with penises or vaginas, because it doesn't require either of those parts for its primary function. The matte black color isn't as cutesy as some sex toys can be.

Performance

When it comes down to it, Caress is a very basic toy. It does one job, which is gentle anal penetration. I found that it does this well.

Care and Maintenance

Because this toy is likely being used primarily anally, I recommend sanitizing it often. While silicone is non-porous and won't hold on to bacteria if cleaned properly, it just feels safer and more cleanly to keep it sanitized. What's nice about Caress is that it's super easy to boil; because there are no mechanical parts involved, you can place it in water on a low boil for a few minutes.

In between boiling, clean your silicone toy with soap and water. Be sure to really get in there, the ridges on Caress can and will hold on to bacteria if you aren't careful.

Silicone does not play well with other silicone. As such, be sure to store your silicone toys in a way that they do not touch each other. Also, silicone based lubes are out, so use a water or oil based lube. Oil based lubes are especially effective if you're going to be using Caress in the shower.

Personal comments

Double penetration has always struck me as very naughty and sexy. I'm excited about the possibility of using Caress anally while a partner enters me vaginally. I'm still slowly easing into anal, so I'm not quite ready to go there yet. Some day I'll achieve this fantasy and now I have the tools to do it.
