Glass in the Ass

A decent plug that's not too scary, but ultimately worries about it coming out outweigh a lot of real benefits.

Use

I have been curious about glass plugs for a while - I never got the courage until I saw this one, and decided to give it a try. The shape looked interesting and appealed to me. Glass has been touted as one of the best materials for temperature play - stick it in the fridge for a few minutes and the Kingpin worked pretty well. It held the temperature for several minutes, and confused my poor bum while it was at it. If you're used to silicone toys, this unforgiving toy is going to feel a little big larger than other silicone toys the same size - simply due to the rigidity, it's a more obvious presence when inserted.

Material / Texture

I was impressed that there were absolutely no seams I could find, no scratches or bumps I needed to sand down with an emery board. It was ready to use out of the package, just lube and go - and even better for cleaning, no holes for germs to hide in. Glass toys can be boiled, bleached, washed etc - and I don't really have to fear for this one melting or warping over time like other cheaper materials do. The texture of the glass is very smooth - just like, well, glass! It held lube well enough while I used it, but I would have concerns of it remaining slick over a long period of time.

Design / Shape / Size

This was a decently beginner enough size, I had no problem inserting it at all. Due to the rigidity I wouldn't really recommend it to anyone just starting to explore, but any intermediate people could give this a try. That said, I was excited about this toy, but it more or less let me down. It was easy to insert, but I had problems keeping it in - with panties on it stayed alright, but the second I was walking around the house without any panties it started to wiggle and move. I describe myself more on the upper end of intermediate anal players, and the difference between the neck and second bulge is pretty big, but not big enough to keep it from constantly creeping out. The stem itself is pretty small - I can't really see anyone having a problem there. The long taper from the second bump to the stem is what really ends up sliding out for me. The base itself was comfortable, for the couple hours I wore it, but I think much longer and the rigidity would get to me.

Performance

Performance wise, it was fun to try out the temperature play and could be fun with a partner to surprise them with. I can't see me using it long-term (which is what I like my plugs to do), or it could be good while wearing a harness or a g-string.

Care and Maintenance

Glass toys can really be used with any lubes - no danger here. Care-wise, it would be easy to toss in a dish with water and boil in the microwave, or use a bleach solution. It doesn't have any real odor when I took it out of the package, and it still doesn't after playing. Any smells it could obtain should be removed when sterilized.

Packaging

I was amused by the packaging - the shipping box was huge, about 12" by 14", and when I saw it, my eyes popped. I didnt think this little thing would need a big package (no pun intended, don't shoot me!) - turns out, the inner packaging for the toy was a colorful white and green poka dotted box, about 10x10", with the toy inside wrapped in bright pink tissue paper. Absolutely no mention what was inside, no product name, no porn models ridiculously and suggestively posed.
    • Discreet looking packaging

Experience

It was fun to try the temperature play - and that's probably what I'll use it for. If you want a long term plug that will stay in on its own, look elsewhere.
Follow-up commentary
It's still a very well made plug, and it holds temperatures well, but every time I use it I have to wear a thong or something to hold it in. This is kinda the fatal flaw for me - if it didn't have such a long taper it wouldn't slide out as easily.

    Very helpful review. Thank you!

Did you try it as a mini-dildo for thrusting play?
  • Contributor: herdisleah
I did a little bit - the base isn't very conducive to that. There's not much to hold onto, especially when it gets slick and wet. A little bit longer handle, and it would indeed probably be a decent dildo!

Thanks for the review. This plug is interesting looking but a plug that won't stay in is not a plug to me So I'll pass.

So it sounds like it's not enough plug to be good as a plug and not enough handle to be good as a dildo. Too bad.
