Let's Go For A Ride

The G-Rider may be designed for males, but it is a great toy for females too. The nubs feel great against my clit, and while the toy took some time to get in, it felt great once it was there. I just wish it was a bit easier to clean, and that you could turn it off without taking out the battery.

Use

The Nexus G-Rider is intended as a prostate massager. I actually won an entire box of toys from Nexus a while back via their Twitter. This was one of the toys I received, and I decided that even though I wasn't male - I wanted to give this one a go. I am reviewing this one from the perspective of a female using this toy for anal play, though you could also use this one vaginally if you wanted.

I don't think that the G-Rider is best for beginners, because it is a bit strangely shaped and also a bit on the big side. I see myself as an intermediate anal player, and I think that intermediate players would definitely enjoy this one most.

Material / Texture

The Nexus G-Rider does not have any taste or scent to it, and it is made from silicone. The toy is very rigid with very little give. When I squeeze the toy in my fingers, the material hardly compresses, though it does move a little bit near the base. This is another reason why I think that intermediate to advanced users are best suited to this one. Beginners won't find any forgiveness from the material.

On the bottom of the G-Rider, there are two "wings" which extend out past the toy and cradle the body. They do make the toy easy to wear because it contours to your body shape. One of those wings has nubs all over it. I didn't think I was going to like the nubs because they are so firm, but I found that they felt really good on my clit. If you are a male using the toy, I'd imagine those nubs would also feel very good against your perineum.

Design / Shape / Size

While the G-Rider isn't designed for my anatomy (being that I am female), it still feels really great inside. I did find that I needed to take a bit longer with this one than with my other toys, because it's one of the biggest anal toys I own. It also did hurt me a tiny but both going in, and coming out, but once I got it all the way in it felt really great. The toy also stays in very well whether or not you're using it as a plug, or riding it. The base of the toy never felt uncomfortable, itchy, or painful to me, and I never had to keep a hand on it to make it stay in. All of which are things I really liked about it.

The G-Rider is 5" long, with 4" being insertable. It also has a diameter of 1 1/2" at its widest point, though the width of the toy varies from the tip to the base.

Performance

This is a really fun anal toy, and I like it a lot. It has five vibration levels, though in order to turn the toy off, you've got to actually remove the battery, which can be a bit of a hassle. The toy requires one AAA battery which does come with it. The very bottom of the toy has a battery compartment with a plastic lid to keep the battery from sliding out. This is not water proof, so make sure that you're careful while cleaning the toy.

The vibrations are definitely buzzy, but I actually like buzzy vibrations when I'm doing anal play. If I was using this toy for vaginal play, I would definitely not like the vibrations one bit. You can control the vibration settings by pushing the button on the bottom of the toy near the battery compartment.

The toy is relatively quiet, but if you've got a room mate, you may want to put on the TV or some music while you use it.

Care and Maintenance

This is my biggest gripe with this toy: it's a pain to clean. The majority of the toy is absolutely fine, but when you get to the part with the nubs, I sometimes have to wash it four or five times because after I dry the toy, I notice there's a soapy film that gets caught between the hard nubs. Probably the most difficult part of cleaning the nubs are that they are so close to the battery pack, and you have to be certain that you're not getting water in the battery compartment - which means you have to be very careful. It's just not as easy to scrub as the rest of the toy.

However, the rest of the toy is very simple to clean. You can use antibacterial soap and water, a toy cleaner, or a 10% bleach solution to get it looking good as new.

With this toy, you can only use water based lubricants. While many people won't mind that, when I am doing anal play I much prefer silicone lubes, because I feel they have better staying power and glide. Still, using a generous amount of water based lube I was able to use this toy without much issue.

Packaging

The toy comes in a cardboard box with a disposable plastic holder inside. You can easily see the toy through the box, so you will definitely want to open this one up out of sight of prying eyes. While the box itself is pretty sturdy, you may not want to keep it for storage because it's about twice the size of the toy itself. I find that a sock drawer, would be fine for most people. I keep mine in my bin of anal toys.

Personal comments

While the Nexus G-Rider is comfortable and fun for me to use anally, I did not enjoy using it during sex or while there was another toy in my vagina. The G-Rider was too big for me personally to enjoy it for DP, but it is a great toy for solo play or as a warm up for anal sex.

Thanks! And does the vibe part come out like it does on the G-Play?

@bh235 I don't own the G-Play, but the G-Rider is one single piece.

It looks lovely! I wish the battery thing wasn't going on, though. I do like the shape, but I always tend to ignore the "boy toys" when looking for new anal playthings. I'll have to change the way I look at these.

@P'Gell I tend to ignore the boy's toys too. I only got this little treasure as a win on the Nexus Twitter account when they were doing a giveaway, so I thought I'd give it a go. I'm glad I did.
