Like Peas in a Pod

I've seen a lot of sex toy collections and sets over the years. Often they are things like "Beginner Bondage Kits" that have only a blindfold and a feather, or a "Bachelorette Party Kit" that has some Mardi Gras beads and a Pin-the-dong-on-the-firefighter game. Basically, I have a pretty low opinion of things that come in "kits" or "sets" because all too often it's an opportunity for companies to sell a collection of garbage items no one in their right mind would pay paper money for individually.

There are always exceptions though and I think I found one. The Rocky Butt Plug Set is one of those rare sets where someone actually took the time to consider their target audience before putting it together. The set is comprised of three separate items: a small silicone butt plug, a large vibrating silicone butt plug, and an enema squeeze bulb. I couldn't have come up with a better combination of toys for a beginner if I tried. The small plug is small indeed, barely thicker than a finger and a fine warmup toy. The large plug is only about twice the thickness of the first and is long and tapered to make insertion easy. A wire running out the bottom can plug into a battery remote and make it vibrate for some extra sensation. And lastly, who does anal play without worrying about the mess? Cleaning oneself out before play is common sense and rather than making you buy a separate item for the task, this set comes with an enema bulb that cleans you out very effectively. All in all, these are exactly the things that lead to a fun and pleasurable time.

1 - Small Butt Plug: Both butt plugs are made of high quality silicone but each is slightly different. The small plug is made of a firm type of silicone that gives it a stiffness and rigidity that is great in a small toy. If a toy this size were made of a very soft material, you would never be able to get it in. Small toys like this one benefit from being a stiffer material than larger toys. There is effectively no texture to the small plug, it is very smooth aside from some small features I will describe in the next section.

2 - Large Vibrating Butt Plug: The larger plug is silicone just like the first but this time the material is softer and plusher than before. The larger plug dimples under pressure and I can press my thumb pretty deep into the side. Being silicone it has no taste or odor and the texture is very smooth.

3 - Enema Bulb: I am pretty confident the enema bulb is made of rubber while the rest of the kit is silicone. The packaging doesn't say one way or the other but from the texture and smell of the material, I'd say it's unlikely it is made of silicone. No great loss of course, you don't gain anything from having an enema bulb made of silicone and it would probably make the kit more expensive.

1 - Small Butt Plug: The small butt plug is 3.5 inches long and is shaped like a capital "T". It's a good little starter plug if you're just getting into anal play or need to warm up before going to the bigger plug. It's all silicone so it has a nice softness to it. The shape is a bit unusual, about halfway up the shaft from the base is a spherical bump you have to get through to get to the end. Between the bump and the cone-shaped section of the top of the plug the thickness drops back down to the neck diameter of the lower section. For such a small toy it really has a lot of shape and sensation.

2 - Large Vibrating Butt Plug: The larger plug measures out at 5 inches long and about 1.25 inches in diameter. Even though it's the largest plug in this kit, it's still pretty small for a butt plug. With this plug we have the usual wide flared base that is slightly concave. If you have a smooth surface to place it on you can get a light suction effect from the base. The neck tapers down to a pretty narrow point and then gradually flares out again to the widest point about halfway up the plug. From there it tapers back down to a narrow point with a rounded tip. You'll notice a solid weight at the widest point. Not only is that the largest concentration of silicone material in the plug, but it is also where the vibrating motor is located.

3 - Enema Bulb: Nothing too unusual here, the item is two parts: the squeeze bulb and the applicator tip. The squeeze bulb is the standard shape and size for these types of items, holding approximately 300 mL. Unlike some of the other enema bulbs for sale, this one does not come with different tips for different sensations. This one is simple and effective and I think an excellent addition to this kit.

The small plug performed well for its size, something that small usually doesn't do much of anything for me but the combination of somewhat firm silicone and the bumpy design of the toy made it a very good little warmup item. Unless you are new to anal play or very tight, you'll quickly get used to the little toy and want to move up to something bigger. The larger plug was very cushy and soft and warmed to body temperature very quickly. As a plug it did very well. The flared base was wide and firm and gave no indication of folding or otherwise escaping into the body. The main body of the toy was nice and thick and provided a fine filling sensation. The vibrations were powerful though not strong enough to numb, mostly to give a nice, constant sensation during use. The enema bulb did exactly what it was supposed to do. It drew in water easily and discharged it as advertised. Cleaning everything was a breeze.

Ah noble silicone, you make our lives so much easier. Since most of this kit is silicone, cleaning is a breeze. For the two plugs all you have to do is wash them in soapy water or use an antibacterial cleaner of some sort. I like lysol wipes personally. The enema bulb is a bit different. Since it can potentially hold bacteria inside, I recommend washing not just the outside but also the interior with very hot, soapy water to remove any possible bacteria. There's little chance of anything bad happening mind you, it's uncommon that you would get any contaminants inside the bulb but it never hurts to be sure.

This kit comes in a handsome red and black box with wire-frame outlines of the items within. The box is really no good for storing the toys in but it looks nice when it arrives. There is some good info on the sides of the box in several languages and it breaks down the dimensions of each of the toys. Overall I would say this is one of the more tasteful package designs I've seen for this sort of kit.
