Leave it to Tantus to again come up with a different design for a silicone anal toy. The Dipper is definitely made for use in a puckering little butt hole. I'm sure that it could also be used vaginally but there isn't much length or girth to seem fulfilling at least to me. Funny how size changes quickly depending on the orifice to be violated! The ball end of the plug is certainly comfortable between the cheeks but it also gives some concern about the toy completely slipping inside. The ass is a hungry animal sometimes.

Constructed of premium silicone, the Dipper is another Tantus butt plug that satisfies most desires of what people want in a plug. Silicone is perhaps the greatest material that scientists have ever came up with for the production of sex toys and I'm betting some kinky old guy in a white coat was thinking 'dildo' when he finally said voila in the laboratory! Silicone is 100% sterilizable meaning that my toy can also be your toy without fear of germ transfer. Holes can also be switched on the same body! Sounds crazy but silicone constructed toys really are the cat's meow.

Silicone is also super smooth and odorless which are also important considerations in designing or choosing a toy. This butt plug has no smell and the texture is quite smooth with the exception of the purposeful ridges on the head of the toy. As far as the firmness goes I can bend this toy with a bit of effort but it's not floppy and is dense enough that it retains it's shape under the hardest squeezing my hands could dole out. Firm but flexible would be the correct description.

Tantus got it right when they picked the size for this plug and I'd say they targeted the bulk of the user's size demands. While not likely fulfilling to advanced users that can shove an entire fist inside their sphincters, most others will appreciate the 4 inches of insert-able length and 5 inch circumference of the Dipper. The plug diameter is 1 1/2" and the neck is 1/2" meaning that your rosebud will really clamp down after insertion of the bulbous end! The ball at the end returns to a diameter of 1 1/2" and it wasn't until I measured that I realized that it was the same size as the head. It looks smaller and therefore unsafe because of a small base but reality is that it will take some work to suck the whole toy inside. Who knew?

And who could forget the ridges that make the whole insertion process just a little different than sneaking a regular plug up into the darkness. They make the process more challenging but definitely pleasurable because you can feel each and every one. This toy will take a few minutes to take all the way inside but it's worth it as the stimulation feels quite nice indeed. The ridges hold the lube well and help keep the body of the Dipper slick.

One complaint that I have however is the seam line from the molding process that runs down both sides of the butt plug. It's pronounced and noticeable visually. If anyone from Tantus is reading this really needs to be addressed as other Tantus products that we own don't seem to have this issue.

Overall we have both been pleased with the performance of the Dipper. We've used it for long term wear around the house and the ball end provides for comfort during movement or when sitting. In other words there was no cheek chafing! Butt plug aren't normally used for stroking but we've had some success with this one. Be sure to sterilize the Dipper before switching orifices or partners. Tantus says that because the silicone is 'premium' that even silicone based lubes can be used but to try a test patch first. I'm not going to risk dissolving my plug so water-based lubricant is the choice. Use a product that is thick like a gel such as Sliquid Organics. It tends to hold nicely in the ridges and doesn't become sticky or dry out. While it's great that the ridges stay lubed they also make cleaning just a little more labor intensive and care will be needed to make sure that the head of the plug has been made thoroughly spotless before storing. We store the Dipper in it's own plastic zip-lock bag to keep it from touching any other toys in the collection and possibly melting. Remember that different toy materials don't always agree with each other!

Tantus again has boxed their product in something simple but classy looking. It's really just a clear plastic rectangular box holding a clam-shell mold with the toy inside. There's a couple of hints for use (if you really needed them!) and some info about the premium silicone used in the plug. The packaging is easy to open and didn't require the use of scissors or box cutters which always drives me crazy.

Our first time insertion of the Dipper did indeed take some time. My husband gallantly volunteered to be the first to try this plug and assumed his customary 'gimme a blow job, lie back pose' with his butt hanging off the side of the bed.
