I really liked the Gyro after first use and had an explosive orgasm. The only downfall is the large base. I'm not really sure how the manufacturer would think it would be comfy to sit on it and gyrate around to cum hands-free. Maybe I'll try it again with some soft fluffy pillows to see if that helps.

Base too large Uncomfy when used for "intended" use
The Gyro is a toy intended for anal use and more specifically prostate play. Not to say that it could not be used for anything else, but that was my intent in purchasing the product. I do not have a female partner at the moment to try it on, so I am not sure if it would work for females or not. The "intended" use for the toy is to insert the Gyro, then move the toy around with the rounded base, which is pretty darn large. There is no way this toy will get lost!
Although the gyro is not a huge anal toy compared to some others I have seen, the second bulge took some effort of getting the toy inside me. I am not a beginner or an advanced user, so I am not sure this would be my first anal toy purchase and I would not recommend the same.
The Gyro is made of 100% silicone, which is my go to choice of material in a toy. The silicone is super soft when pressed, yet firm overall and very flexible. I found the toy to be odorless which is a plus, not that I'm into smelling my toys! Since the toy is silicone based, water based lubrication is pretty much required for this toy, so do not use a silicone based lube on this one. Another plus, the toy can be boiled for 10 minutes or so for extra sterilization since it is made of silicone.
There are two seams that run through the middle of the toy and I'm not sure why they couldn't engineer this without them, but the seams were unnoticable once inserted.
The Gyro comes in black and purple. When I purchased the toy, it was half off for the purple, so I jumped on it! Not too picky on colors and it was a great deal!
Because of the size of the Gyro, I would not recommend this toy to beginner anal users.
Overall, the Gyro has a spot on design, aside from the rounded base. Upon insertion I could definetely feel the toy immediately hit my prostate. As stated before, I found the second bulge to be somewhat large to get inside, it took some work!
I found the rounded base of the toy too large. The intent of the toy is to be able to "sit" on the toy and move your hips, etc. around to achieve maximum pleasure, but I found this to be uncomforatable. I am not sure if sitting on pillows, etc. would help, but I did not try.
The Gyro is like a missle for your prostate; I don't think you could go wrong with this one. Stating the obvious, the anus does not produce natural lubrication, so it is a must to lube up. I use ID-glide, so I got the bottle out and lubed it up pretty generously, enough to put a good coating overall. Upon insertion (after some work) I immediately leaked cum. I layed on my back on the floor and found the gyro to be very comforatable and filling. Stroking my cock with lube, I could have cum within seconds, but wanted to see how good it felt and take it for a spin. I was rock hard the whole time while watching some choice porn. After about 10 minutes or so of torture and leaking cum, I tried the "recommended" way to sit and gyrate the hips to cum hands-free. I found it to be somewhat painful to sit on a chair, and I am not a big guy (170 pounds). Went back to the floor and layed on my back again and it felt amazing to press down on the toy with your legs straight, which made me feel like I was going to pee (hence the toy hitting the prostate). When I couldn't take the pleasure anymore, I ejaculated like there was no tomorrow. Peter North would be jealous!
Because the Gyro is silicone based, this toy is pretty easy to maintain. The toy can be washed with warm water and soap and/or boiled for up to 10 minutes to totally sterilze the material. After the first use and cleaning, I have not noticed the toy to be a lint collector, like some other materials.
The Gyro is encased in plastic packaging. On the front of the box is a "Touch Me" super silicone sample- not too exciting, but there nonethelesss. Based on other reviews I have read for this toy, there is supposed to be an instruction manual included inside the box that was very helpful, which I did not find. I wrote an EF representative to inquire on this, and she actually went to the warehouse and looked at some other boxes for the toy. Apparently, the product does not come with instructions anymore. She did send me a pretty cool link to some general instructions for anal play from Nexus. By the way, thanks to EF staff for your helpfullness! No biggie, I figured this is a toy you need to shove in your ass and hope for eternal happinesss!
Follow-up commentaryI still like it2 months after original review
I still like the Nexus Gyro and it seems to be easier for me to be inserted and not as painful as it was with the initial use. However, the base seems too large and uncomfortable. I still have not experienced a hands-free orgasm while using it, but will certainly keep trying!
