You know how sometimes it's hard to tell how large a sex toy truly is when you read a description or look at some images online? I took the Magic Butt Plug out of its package and involuntarily exclaimed, "Good grief it's huge!" No kidding. This toy is quite large. It is not for an anal-amateur.

It's attractive, in a menacing sort of way, which some might consider quite the plus. The base is made from made from black and clear jelly, layered over a plastic core. Dozens of pearly beads (under a layer of jelly, of course) top off the Magic Butt Plug. The insertable part measures a solid 5" and it's nearly 2" across at its widest. A firm flange allows the toy to stand upright and prevents it from getting lost somewhere it shouldn't. The control pack is connected to the toy by a thin cord. You'll need three "C" batteries to power this monster.

Vibrations are controlled with a simple dial and you can change the direction in which the beads rotate by pushing a button; all conveniently located on the control pack.

As with any jelly toy, this one puts off a strong smell straight out of the package. I'd recommend letting it sit out for a few hours (at least) before you plan on using it, to avoid an assault on your nostrils.

I do love a challenge, so I looked forward to trying out this large anal toy. I lubed up carefully, both the toy and my bottom, and I set to work.

The first thing I discovered was the difficulty I had inserting the toy because of the relatively short length of the cord. I like to put anal toys in standing up. It was impossible for me to hold both the controller and the toy in one hand while inserting the toy; the cord was too short to hold the controller in one hand and the toy in the other hand. Eventually I found a way (er...don't ask), but for a few moments I probably looked like a dog chasing its tail. A more coordinated person would have had less trouble, I'm sure, as would someone who was playing with a partner.

My next difficulty with the Magic Anal Plug came when I tried to take myself to bed with the plug inside of me. To me, if it's called a "plug" it's meant to be left in your bottom, not thrust into your bottom. If it's intended to be left in, then it really needs a narrow neck so that your anal sphincter can close down on it; this keeps the toy in place. Well, the Magic Butt Plug has no such narrow neck, and it did not want to stay in place while I got into bed.

It kept trying to wiggle its way out of my bottom so persistently that I eventually let it go. I put it in again, this time while wearing a tight-fitting pair of panties. The panties helped a little in keeping the toy contained--but not much. I found the best way to play while wearing the toy was to sit up against the headboard so that the toy was mostly trapped inside.

I consider the lack of a narrow neck to be a serious design flaw on this toy. If it was intended to be used for thrusting, it really needs a handle--and a more descriptive name.

Before I'd inserted the Magic Anal Plug, I tried out its vibration and rotation in my hand. They felt milder than I would have expected from a toy powered by three "C" batteries, and I noticed I could almost stop the rotation by making a loose fist around the toy. Once I got situated with the toy inside me, I turned it on again. The rotation was almost absent. It was not powerful enough to produce more than a weak squirm inside the tightness of my bottom. Again, this seems to be a very serious drawback of the toy.

I did enjoy the fullness of the Magic Butt Plug in me--for the amount of time that I could keep it in me. As I grew closer to coming (I was also using a vibrator on my clit), the toy refused to stay put. I eventually had to give up on it, let it slide out, and carry on without it.

Clean up was NOT easy with this toy. Unfortunately, the power cord connects to the bottom of the toy's shaft. This means that even when covered with a condom, some lube got into the hole where the power cord runs and it was difficult to get it all out. Also, I was nervous about letting water run over the toy, as I didn't want any to get into the power cord hole. Cleaning it with paper towels and anti-bacterial gel|Anti bacterial toy cleaner 4 oz - Sex Toy Cleaners seemed to be the best option.

Overall, I would judge the quality of this toy to be very low. Unless you plan on using it with a partner for thrusting, you'll probably be disappointed in what the Magic Butt Plug offers.

I've looked at this toy several times as a gift just because it looks intriguing, but your review answered all the questions I had about it, from size to the feeling of the rotation pearls.  Thanks for saving me some $$!
