Sunny Leone renegade - probe discontinued by Doc Johnson - review by Alicia

I was really excited to get the Sunny Leone renegade. The shaped seemed so promising, and the size seemed perfect for a beginner. And I have to say that the shape is nice. I love the graduated head, and the size is perfect for a complete anal newbie as myself. But as soon as I opened the package I knew I'd have trouble using this toy. The smell blew me away. I couldn't even get near the renegade without feeling like I wanted to vomit. That's how bad it is. And I've owned jelly before, I've owned other TPR toys, so I was pretty shocked at just how offending the odor of this toy was. I put it away after holding it for a minute or two and stepped away from it and I noticed that my hands stunk just as bad as the toy did because the smell had rubbed off onto them. At this point I thought there was no way I was ever touching that thing again.

But, I really liked the renegade otherwise so I tried washing it, several times, with a scented hand soap that I have in hopes that it could get rid of the horrid smell or at least mask it with the scent of fresh lemons. Yea, no such luck. It still smells almost as bad, but I do have to say that it doesn't transfer as much to my skin much anymore, so yay..that's a plus! The probe's material is also just a sleeve over a jelly like substance and at the base you can see that it's not solidly against the edge of the sleeve, this makes me hesitant to soak it because I don't want water seeping into the middle of the toy, but I think at this point that might be the only way that I could get rid of the smell to any noticeable degree.

At this point I figured that I could at least handle trying the renegade since the smell wasn't filling the entire room with stench every time it was out of its package. I found that it does work well, the shape does make for extremely easy insertion and the handle is great to hold onto, just make sure that you have a good grip on it since it's not exactly bulbed and it's not that much larger then the shaft of the probe so it isn't the safest toy for anal play. I also like the feel of the material. It's pliable but still firm enough that it glides well with an average amount of lube (water soluble only because of the material). I found that I liked using a probe a bit better then a plug because you can experiment more with the amount of length used and with the feel of movement. But, because it doesn't have a flared base I didn't feel comfortable enough using it during sex because I was afraid we'd lose grip of the handle.

This toy is easy to clean up, you can use a mild soap and water on it, or a toy cleaner. I keep mine in the case that it came in just to keep it away from the other toys and to keep it clean between uses. It doesn't pick up much lint, but I've found a stray hair or two on it.

The smell still prevents me from really enjoying this toy, and I can't imagine we'll be using it often because it's just such a turn off. I don't like using it during foreplay because I don't want to subject my husband to having to be anywhere down near that probe because that is anything but sexy. So, I think I'll be looking for a similarly shaped probe that's made out of a better material.

Well, I still don't like this one, because the smell is still very present. It's just not sexy to feel like you want to vomit during foreplay. Since it's been a while and we've tried washing and letting it air out and nothing works, I think this probe is on its way to the trash.
