What The???

This just didn't do anything for a male or female user. Poor Vibrations and seems short for it's intended purpose. Trying to figure out how to insert it kinda kills the mood!

Compact Prostate Massager, from California Exotic Novelties

Part of the Dr. Joel Kaplan line

Use

Prostate massager is it’s intended use for males but it can be used by females for anal play too. It is marketed as a” compact” prostate massager, but it’s insertable portion doesn’t seem to be long enough for it’s intended use. It doesn’t do anything for vaginal use. This is one of those toys that you look at and say “What the Hell?” The handle placement and use just doesn’t seem user friendly.

Material/Texture

It’s made from PU coated ABS plastic. It is a 7 on the Eden safety scale. It is phthalates free but I am unsure if it is Latex free. This material is somewhat porous. According to the product page you can use both silicone and water based lubes. It is waterproof per the package insert but I didn’t seen any O ring or waterproofing.

The plastic feels soft but not velvety. The very tip of the insertable area is approximately one half inch of a rubbery type material with lots of drag. Not really an issue because you will be using lube to insert it anyway.

There really isn’t any texture to this toy. There is a seam where the rubbery type material meets the plastic in the insertable area. My husband said that he could feel it and it bothered him. I my self didn’t feel it with insertion. The toy doesn’t have any smells to it and I did not taste it.

Design/Shape/Size

It is shaped like an odd backwards “L” shape. Again, this is a toy that you look at and say “What the Hell?” if you insert it like I believe it is intended to be inserted the handle comes up along side of your testicles after you push them out of the way and you have the big handle sitting there. If you place it with the handle coming out the back it isn’t easily controllable for the wearer. Any which way we inserted it, it didn’t feel comfortable with the large handle.

The toy is 7 inches long with the insertable portion 2 ¼ inches. The diameter of the insertable portion is ¾ inches. The size is great for beginners but the insertable portion doesn’t seem to be long enough for prostate massage. The handle has a circumference of 3 inches and is 3 inches long. The hanlde doesn’t seem to be easy to hold on to when you are trying to use it.

Functions

The toy does vibrate, it is very buzy and not a strong vibration. It makes quite a bit of noise when it is turned on. To turn it one you push the button on the end. There is only on and off. The 2 AAA batteries are housed in the handle and the cap is somewhat tricky to try to pop on and off. The vibrations were not impressive for male or female users. Our Booty rocket offers much more anal stimulation with multi settings.

Care/Maintenance

The compact prostate massager is washable with antibacterial soap and water, you can use toy sprays or Eden wipes. This cannot be boiled or placed in the dishwasher due to it’s motor. The packaging states you can use the silicone or water based lubes. I would store this toy in it’s packaging. I wouldn’t suggest sharing this toy with anyone that you weren’t very close to. The seam on the insertable tip is concerning for cleaning purposes. I don’t have a problem sharing anal toys with my husband of 16 years. If he has it I would bet that so do I after all of these years. I did try to use it vaginally before any anal insertions took place.

Packaging

It comes in a clear plastic clamshell type packaging. There is an information page on it. It is endorsed by Dr. Joel Kaplan. His web site is www.DrJoelkaplan.com. On the web site I couldn’t find any information about this toy or it’s use. One interesting thing that I found on his website was that there is a big highlighted area that states that Dr. Kaplan’s line is not sold as a novelty. Someone needs to tell California Exotics because several places on the package it states that it is a novelty item.

I would say that this could be travel friendly. Heck, if I didn't know how to use it TSA may not. I would keep it in a plastic bagy if the packaging gets messed up.

Experience
What the Hell? This was stated a few times after we opened the package. I tried it vaginally, no go. Both my husband and I used this anally and it's a fail. The vibrations aren't worth writing home about and they are buzzy and loud. My husband is a prostate massager beginner, and I would say that this is appropriate for beginners but it just doesn't perform. There is not comfortable way to insert it and hold onto the handle to turn on the vibrations. You have to move your testicles out of the way to use it for attempted prostate massage. It is very short and with the other prostate toys we have used they were much longer. My husband is much happier with the booty call anal vib that isn't intended for prostate play. For me I didn't think this was a good anal toy we have other's in our toy box.
Follow-up commentary
This one really never worked the best for my husband, it isn't sized right to hit the prostate and the shape is not user friendly. I like prostate toys myself and this one too didn't work for any type of stimulation for me.
