Lynx collar by Leatherbeaten - review by Sammi

The Lynx Collar from Leatherbeaten is a collar that works well as an accessory for a night on the town as well as for BDSM play. Its design is simple, yet classy, and suitable for both men and women.

This comes in two different sizes, both adjustable, to fit a wide variety of necks.

The design of this collar is unique and lovely. The collar is 3/4" wide. The leather is a 5 ounce chrome/oil tan cowhide, and is a nice matte black in color with a small grain pattern. The back side is unfinished and has a suede feel.

The two sides of the collar are 9 1/4" each, including the nickel plated metal square connectors. These connectors are attached to the collar sides by nickel plated brass rivets. The sides are connected by two chains made of chrome plated steel, each 3 1/4" long. The chains are welded in the center and on each end to prevent tangling.

One side piece has 4 snap bottoms, and the other has 3 snap tops. The snaps are all nickel plated steel. The collar can be fastened to a maximum circumference of about 21”, and a minimum of 17 1/2". At the smallest, the top and bottom straps overlap in the back. The back of the snaps are pretty flush with the back of the collar strap for comfortable wear and no gouging.

This collar worked very well. I fastened it to its smallest, and it fit well with just a little space between it and my neck. It looked lovely on. Although the collar has no ring for a finger or a leash, fingers can be hooked under the chains and a snap leash will attach around both chains if desired.

The collar stayed in place, even connected by only one snap, during vigorous tugging and pulling, and it didn’t trap sweat underneath.

Leather is water resistant, and holds its shape well even with a lot of flexing and bending. It can be cleaned with a damp cloth and mild soap, and reconditioned with leather cleaner if necessary.

The collar should be stored out of direct sunlight, and can be either laid flat or gently rolled.

The Lynx Collar is minimally packaged, and it comes in a small plastic bag. It has a tag attached by a plastic tie through one of the bottom snaps. This collar is made in Canada.

This is a well-made and beautiful collar that should last a lifetime. Leatherbeaten offers a full replacement warranty. If the collar is defective, it can be returned for repair or replacement.

This was a collar I was anxious to try. I was struck by the beauty of the design, and knew I had to have this. I did need to use this on the smallest circumference, but I have hopes that my husband will wear this as well. He will need the larger opening.

This fit me well, and looked wonderful on, classy and alluring. The chains jingled seductively when I moved my head. Although this does not have a ring on the front, the chains worked just as well. My husband attached a leash to the front around the chains with no problem. He also got two fingers underneath and was able to pull me by the collar this way without the chains tangling or breaking. The collar and withstood some aggressive pulling and tugging with no damage.

This will be a collar that we will use for a long time to come.
