Take me chest to thigh restraints - cuffs by EdenFantasys - review by abee

I have a few restraint sets at this point - and like them! - but they are of the more basic variety, usually made with polyester straps and fabric Velcro cuffs. This bondage set is of a different ilk.
I was impressed as soon as I opened the box by its obvious quality. The faux leather is thick, sturdy, and has an excellent heft to it, without being too stiff. The inside of the straps has a soft suede-like finish to ensure comfort. The stitching is well-done and very solid. The metal fastenings are likewise thick and clearly well-made - no flimsy metal here (they also make some great noises, and having a partner sensually secure each strap around you is excellent foreplay). I'd like to see the O-rings completely joined since strong pressure can pull at the unsealed ends, but overall they're very secure.

The set comes with one large, wide cuff for each thigh, which are secured by buckled straps and have an O-ring with a clip attachment to fasten them to the rings on the chest harness. The chest harness is a criss-cross design that crosses the upper back and is secured with three buckled straps - one for each of the underarm straps and one across the chest to hold it in place. There's also an O-ring in the back where the straps cross, which allows additional bondage gear to be attached if you choose. It's also possible to wear the chest harness backward, placing the large O-ring at the center of the chest, where you can then clip the thigh cuffs. This will keep the wearer's thighs close together when restrained, as opposed to partly open when they are attached at the shoulder O-rings. Overall it's incredibly solidly built and in a completely different class from your run-of-the-mill cheap bondage gear.

As for my wearing experience, it has been mostly positive. The thigh cuffs are very secure and will hold firmly even with some resistance (which is good because the thighs have powerful muscles). The fact that the thigh cuffs and chest harness are separate pieces makes it a very versatile set; you can choose to attach the thigh cuffs to other things - a spreader bar or under-the-bed restraint system would work well - and you can also repurpose the chest harness to attach wrist cuffs, leashes, and so forth. The thigh cuffs are also large enough, for me at least, to wrap a single one around both my calves, which pins the legs in a very effective hobble. When wearing the restraint set as intended, with thighs clipped to the chest, you can lie flat on your back with the legs pulled up or kneel and use the chest harness to keep the wearer's torso locked down to the legs. There are tons of possibilities - get creative!

My biggest issue with the set is that given the strength of the thigh muscles, the pressure from your thighs - especially if the wearer pulls against the restraints - can cause the straps of the chest harness to pull uncomfortably or painfully. The chest straps are thinner, and since they are the ones doing the securing, the worst of the pressure falls on them. This hasn't been a major problem when I'm lying flat on my back because the chest straps then have the additional security of being pressed against whatever I'm lying on, but if in a partially upright position, it can be unpleasant.

The other issue, which is not a problem for me but maybe for others, is the size of the cuffs and harness. Each strap does have a very long set of buckle points, so there is a lot of adjustabilities, but for those with very small frames or larger frames, they may not be small/big enough. Be sure to check the minimum and maximum measurements. For those with small thighs, you can attach the thigh cuffs higher up, whereas, for those with large thighs, they may still fasten at the lower thigh.

Despite these issues, I'm VERY impressed with this set and cannot wait to acquire more bondage gear of this quality.
