I think this works for beginners due to its simplistic design, although the size of the gag itself may deter some users. The velcro closure would be easy for first time users and be a turn off for more advanced users who may want a buckle or locking closure.

Being that the gag itself is silicone it will last a long time and is easy to clean. It's very soft and flexible, with no smell, but the wearer will definitely know it's there. The gag's strap is leather, has a Velcro closure, and is held in place with snaps. The shape of that gag will appeal to age players as it's almost pacifier shaped, but the gag is BIG and may be too large for some people’s mouths. Personally, I wish it had a more heavy-duty strap and a buckle or locking closure, but seeing as it's a "beginner" gag, it makes sense that it's a simple Velcro closure.

The gag works as I would expect and while a bit big it fits in my mouth fairly comfortably. For a heavy scene I don't think it would be the one I would choose since my personal preference is for locking or at least buckling items. However, I like the shape and the whimsical look of it. It's perfect for a Mommy or Daddy punishing their little one for misbehaving based on its pacifier look. That's what attracted me to the gag in the first place. It does its job regardless, stays in place and is well made. Being that it's a beginner’s gag that's really what one can expect.

I keep it in a drawer with my other kink related items. Keep it away from silicone lube as it will wreck anything silicone based such as this gag. Really, there isn't much maintenance. You can wash the gag piece with antibacterial soap or even throw it the dishwasher if you so desire. I haven't had to clean the strap but basic leather cleaner would work.

The gag comes in plastic clamshell type packaging. It comes with some basic instructions on how to keep the gag clean and extend its life. The gag and strap come separate, which makes sense for shipping. The packaging is rather bulky, and I threw it out the day I bought the gag because it's just not practical for storage.

I have been happy with the gag thus far, and it does help in ageplay oriented scenes or even when just winging it and not wanting to mess with more complicated gags.
