Pink heart collar by Spartacus - review by Spoken Pandora

The Pink Heart Collar is a sexy but cutesy piece that is better used as an accessory to a tight fitting leather outfit than a romp around the bedroom on a leash. Pink is a girly-girls best friend and when a heart is added to it, one will just melt. But immediately it is apparent that this won't be the collar to use during heavy play.Because of this reason I tend to shy away from cute pink toys my main concern being the longevity and aggressiveness.
If you are looking for a nice collar to award your submissive for being a "good girl", then this collar is perfect. But because it fits way too tight and the velcro closure slips a bit I don't recommend it for serious punishments or play.
The collar performs as intended simply because its a collar that offers no promises. But if you have a vivid imagination and want to test strength this isn't the collar for you.

The Pink Heart Collar is a beautiful piece that would make a nice addition to any girls collection. The white leather heart fastens the 1" D-ring and makes a nice contrast against the pink. The draw-back is the size of the collar. Although it is 16" in length, once you put it around your neck 2" are taken up by the velcro closure making it a tight fit for even a small neck.
The leather is pliable which is good on the first use because you are not forced to deal with the stiffness found in a lot of leather products fresh out of the box. The white faux fur lining is very soft but because of the tight fit of the collar it doesn't add to comfort.
While this collar is aesthetically pleasing, it falls short in the usage category.

Because the collar is a tight fit it wasn't comfortable around my neck and after a while I wanted it off. Comfort level is important during "play" especially when looking at the toys you want to use. Although certain situations may lead to roughness it can become an issue if discomfort stems from the toy when it isn't something meant to cause discomfort.

Because the collar is secured with velcro over time it will slip. Of course out of the box it was very strong but when used with a lead/leash you can hear and feel it already beginning to give a little. When using collars it is important to have a certain amount of security because of the situations you may find yourself in. I like a collar I can trust and I found myself flinching a bit with hard tugs and pulls preparing myself for it to pull right off. It didn't of course however I we will see how well it holds up over a few moths.

Overall, the combination of tightness and velcro really took away from serious use. The one plus was the well fastened D-ring. The cutesy white heart that fastens the D-ring to the collar will definitely last for a long time to come.

Saddle soap will work well to clean this collar as water can damage leather over time. You can wipe the collar clean with a slightly dampened cloth and then use a separate dampened cloth to apply saddle soap. Buff the collar with a soft clean cloth. This technique will help the collar to last over time.
The collar isn't bulky by any means and makes for great storage. Make sure where ever you store it is not damp to maintain the integrity of the leather.

The pink heart collar comes in a small plastic package that is definitively a bit bulky despite its size. The good thing is that the collar can be taken out of the package and will fit almost anywhere with or without folding.
The pink insert is the perfect backdrop to accentuate the collar but the girl on the package kind of reminds me of a cosplay chic I saw once at my last anime convention.
