Overall I liked this product, but I wouldn't buy it again. I liked the look and feel of the wax (though one should be warned that it's rather more dark purple than black) and the handle is gloriously made and quite beautiful even for someone who isn't into ornate gothic style in sex products. By far the biggest downside, however, is the fact that the candle does not fit snugly in the holder. My partner and I ended up simply using the candle instead of the holder because we were afraid we'd drop the candle and light something on fire. The handle is beautiful but it doesn't stand upright on it's own and can't be trusted as a handle to protect your hand from wax, so I see no real point to it. Therefore although I love the candle, I don't really see the point in having the holder at all.

The candle itself is not for the meek. it's a standard about 8" long candle that appears black until melted when it looks dark purple. It's made out of standard scent-free wax, which makes it's burning temperature a bit hotter than is ideal for human skin. Therefore, be extra sure to hold the candle at least a foot if not more above the skin and to let the drops fall slowly. That said, however, I found that even as a person with not a very high pain threshold, I could tolerate the wax. It definitely hurt though and is NOT a beginner's wax kit.

The candle itself will burn for hours so it can be used many, many times before it needs replacing.

The handle is smooth black glass, no seams and decorated with silver gothic designs. It's quite beautiful and well-made for the price, but ultimately did not hold the candle well enough to be trustworthy (even when we tried to seal the candle in with melted wax). It would honestly be a better decoration than a toy.
