Great for those new to kink

If you are looking for a real deal experience in bondage, look elsewhere. The handcuffs won't stand up to what you're looking for. If you're looking for a little sensory deprivation and a few good slaps along the way, there is a good chance you'll enjoy this kit. While I cannot promise how long it will last, it will give nice sensations. Had the handcuffs been better quality, this product would get more stars.

Use

This product would be a great as an "Intro into BDSM." It's nonthreatening, simple, and covers the basics of what someone might be looking for when starting out in BDSM. The handcuffs are nice and fuzzy; the blindfold is made with soft material, and the slapper isn't heavy enough to actually hurt someone.

I think that advanced players in the BDSM scene would find this kit to be cheap. The handcuffs were easily bendable, and wouldn't stand up to any real weight or tugging. This is why they would be best for very light restraint. The slapper gives a nice thwack, and it was probably the best thing about the kit. The blindfold works well. One could see very, very vague shadows through it but nothing else.

This kit could be taken anywhere for a kinky weekend; just toss the goods in a bag and go! Have one partner put on the blindfold and the other can tease them mercilessly, throwing in occasional smacks with the slapper along the way. The good thing about this kit is that it gives versatility. One doesn't have to use all of the items at once in order for it to be fun. Everything is up to the imagination!

Design / Craftsmanship / Material / Size / Fit

My opinion of the design of the kit, over all, was that it was cheaply made. I think I would have gotten more bang for my buck had I bought the pieces separately. The handcuffs broke before I even got them on. I was testing to see how much I would be able to struggle against them, as I'm a bit of a fighter in the bedroom, and one of the hinges came out of place. I was unable to fix it. The metal was too soft to be of any real bondage use. They did fit my wrists, which was a nice surprise as I have small wrists. The blindfold fit well also. It blocked out about 90% of what it was supposed to. The slapper fit in both my hand and my boyfriend/dom's hand, and he has much larger hands than I do. The slapper seemed to be made of neoprene, not pleather or real leather. This is not a kit that will last a long time. I think I might get a year's use out of it. The kit really just seemed to be made of the cheapest materials they could get away with using and still look exciting.

Performance

While, overall, this product performed its intended purpose, it did not meet my expectations. The biggest downfall really was the cuffs. When I want to be bound down, I want to be able to struggle and NOT break my toys. That I could bend them so easily was a huge disappointment. I did keep the black fuzzy things on the cuffs to put on a real pair of handcuffs, and I believe that that will be a good improvement.

The slapper did turn my butt a pretty shade of pink without actually hurting me; I never felt like it could really leave a mark or do damage to my person. It made a nice sound on contact with the skin which sometimes is what it's all about for me.

The blindfold fit me, stayed secure, and blocked out what I expected it to block out. I could still see hints of shadow, but it did the job. I expect the elastic bands to wear out after a time, but that happens sometimes. My dom did find that slapping me with the handle of the slapper was almost more fun for him than with the intended XOXO side- he said he got a better reaction out of me, and I felt like the sensation was more condensed in one area of skin.
    • Comfortable during use
    • Easy to put on / use

Care and Maintenance

I keep this kit stored with all my other toys. I tuck the blindfold away in the corner of the bag I keep my accouterments in, and let the slapper be stored on top so it doesn't get bent. Clean up is easy. Wipe everything down with an antibacterial wipe if you feel it necessary, and let it air dry.

Packaging

This product came in really pretty black and silver packaging. It looked really pretty. Inside it, in addition to the toys, it had a mock "Master/Submissive Contract." Were I new to the BDSM scene, it would have been a decent starting out tool. I don't store my toys back in the boxes they came in, although, with this one you could. It does say "Sex and Mischief" on it, so it is not particularly discreet once it's out of the shipping box.

Follow-up commentary
While this is not a toy that actively gets used from my toy box, it's not the one at the bottom of the box either. The handcuffs on this set are still broken; if not more so now than they were previously from attempting to fix them. (Whoops.) I've come to like the slapper more too; you can get some pretty decent smacks out of it without breaking it. Also, the blindfold having two straps helps keep it from sliding around on my head. I can't see out if it; we've been more thoroughly testing that out since receiving it. If I look under my nose, I can peek out of it, but I can't see someone right in front of me if I'm not cheating.

I still would recommend this kit to someone new to BDSM who is trying to explore their options of sadism/masochism and sensory deprivation. It covers your basic attributes of BDSM, especially if you exchange the handcuffs for a hank of rope (AFTER reading about rope safety of course!)

Excellent review! I enjoyed every detail. I'm glad to hear the slapper actually does a good job. I can see that it would be cheap-ish stuff though. Thanks for sharing all the information here. Cute set, but I think I'll be passing it up because I like my BDSM gear to be a little more long term, and plus I have many masks similar to that. Glad it is at least a little fun though. Furry handcuffs are always fun.

Thanks for the review. I always figure the kits are introductory bondage only. It's nice to know the slapper is decent.

Thanks for the honest review. I think you nailed it with "intro into BDSM". For about the same money, you could get a set of proper police handcuffs.

Thanks for the great review. Thanks for covering each item in detail. That sucks about the cuffs. They always look like such fun, but they are so easy to break.
