Master collar - collar by Spartacus - review by Lilith Bealove

This is a fun leather and metal collar labeled with the word "MASTER". I believe this collar is intended for light BDSM play, as the design does not seem to be sturdy enough for really rough stuff, plus the idea of a true master wearing a collar seems laughable. The word "MASTER" and the clasps are made with a shiny, but cheapish metal that has the feel of aluminum to me. There are four metal clasps for different neck widths. The clasps on mine aren't too secure and at times, it feels like it is going to fall apart in my hands when undoing the snaps. The lettering seems secure, but a little misaligned, as others have noted. Around the lettering, you can see puncture marks where the letters were stapled onto the collar.

We purchased the size that's 3/4 inch in width, and it is approximately 18 inches in length. This collar will comfortably fit a neck between 13 and 16 inches. The collar comfortably fits my husband for whom we bought it (he has a somewhat small neck), but would not be comfortable on someone with a larger neck.

When we first bought the collar, it had a wonderful leather smell, but now, a year later, and with little use, the smell has gone. The collar does not have a taste, but does have two different textures (smooth on the front and soft on the back) that feel unique on your tongue. I don't think the collar would do so well if completely soaked, so as for cleaning, I would suggest wiping it down with a damp cloth.

I think with a little creativity and craft ability, this collar could be used for a variety of things. You could use it for bondage, a gag, or, with some creativity and time, you could even craft it into an adjustable cock ring!

For our use with it, it was fun and light play. My husband wore it during foreplay and sex and it was a sexy reminder that for that night he was the master and what he said was "law". We haven't used it for anything other than it's intended purpose and we have only used it once or twice, but after writing this review and putting some thought into it, I believe we may try it as a gag! The collar has held up well over time. I admit we don't use it as often as we used to, but it is well made and has stood up to the play we do use it for. The snaps are still strong and the lettering is still attached.
