Special order studded collar - collar by Spartacus - review by ShadowKitten

I ordered the 'Special order studded collar' (the Pyramid stud variety) in hopes of acquiring a new play collar, but I have to say I was quite disappointed with more than a couple things about this collar.

The Special order studded collar has three options available for what kind of studs it has, one is round 'dots', another is thin sideways rectangular flat studs and the one I chose a raised pyramid stud; the quality of the studs are probably the only saving quality about this collar in my opinion.

Coming in at just shy of 19" total length (meaning the length listed on the product page is indeed inaccurate never mind the fact length in any case should not include the buckle as well), the buckle and metal parts of this collar are very wobbly and poorly secured, with the exception of the studs and the grommets holding the buckle onto the rest of the collar.

While the interior of this collar is soft, the collar arrived (in its packaging) looking rather shoddily made, especially the underside of the band as it apparently sheds like crazy compared to the exterior (facing out to viewers) which is smooth and nicer looking. I don't think this collar is going to hold up to much, such as sweating which will no doubt cause the collar to shed even faster, crack easier and overall just ruin it further.

The main gripe I had with the Special order studded collar was that aforementioned inaccurate listed length. If it had been accurate (19.5" PLUS the buckle) it would have fit me, but because of this it does not fit. Even if I were to punch a hole as far down the band as I could, it would still be about an inch and a half short on me. This collar was a complete letdown especially considering I expected much better from Spartacus, whose other products I own are well made and mostly a delight. I plan to stay the hell away from anything besides their crops, metal cuffs and certain highly rated products in the future after this one soured my overall opinion of them.

Just for the record, the length of this collar is more like 17" without the buckle versus the advertised 19.5" length, this collar was a good idea from Spartacus but a poorly manufactured one which is why I'm only giving it 2 stars. Personally I would rather give it 1 1/2 as it's barely worth mentioning.

The only thing 'special' about this collar is the lack of quality compared to other Spartacus products; it failed in every way I was looking forward to using it.

I still don't have a real use for this collar. I also am still vastly disappointed that Spartacus disappointed me after I really felt like I had incorporated some trust with their other products especially with incorrectly provided information. I guess this collar is a lesson to me not to always judge a company by a few of its toys and to be very thorough when researching toys as even if I am I might end up with a lemon.
