Ignore the BDSM Rules

Basically, how this flogger is made is that rope was pulled through a metal piece and looped over until the two sides matched each other in length. From there, the smaller rope was tightly bound as the handle to keep the rope from slipping back through the metal pieces. The manufacturer's then unbraided some of the plaits of the rope and there you go! It's a flogger now.
This has probably the neatest packaging I've ever seen from a flogger. Instead of just coming in a plastic baggie like other floggers and BDSM toys do, this comes in a nicely-made plastic bag that snaps shut on one end. It's meant to be kept, and if you don't want to hang this up, the bag will work great for storage since it's strong, durable, and will keep the water out of the bag.
The flogger itself is relatively light. Because it's all made from silk rope, (aside from the metal pieces), this is extremely light-weight and easy to handle. From a top's point of view, the rope as a handle works extremely well. It provides an interesting texture that keeps the flogger in your hand. The handle should work well for all different types of hands. My female hand fit on it fine, but it provided lots of room for a male hand as well. The metal o-ring on the top is removable by a clip, so you don't have to worry about being hit with it during play.
The neat thing about this flogger is how it feels. It really does feel like silk. The feeling of the unbraided silk rope is something that really isn't replicated in any other type of flogger. Because of the light weight of this flogger, there isn't any sort of a thuddy feeling during use. It just feels like someone is lightly brushing the tails against your back. I put everything I had into it, and this didn't produce a sting on his skin, so if you are a beginner, seriously - this is perfect. It's soft, luxurious, and is soft no matter how you wield it. This one really doesn't require too much practice for aim nor do you really have to "obey" most of the no-hit zones because there's no way this thing is going to hurt anyone. (I still wouldn't hit someone in the face with it though.)
The boyfriend says that this feels quite a bit like being stroked with a soft feather, even when I was attacking him full strength. This is not a sadist's flogger. This is easily meant for those who want practice or don't want to take their time to practice aim before playing with a partner. He said there was absolutely no pain involved, and it felt much more like a sensual toy than any sort of kinky, painful flogger - which is always nice.
The only thing I'm concerned about is the plaits from the rope. As you can notice, they unraveled the rope half-way up the rope strands to make all the free-falling pieces. From what I can tell, there was no sort of knot or special treatment to keep the rope from continuing to unravel all the way up the strands. Which would severely disappoint me because half of the "control" of this flogger comes from half of the strands still being intact. Without that, it'd be too light-weight to control. So, basically, my strands haven't unraveled all the way, but with lots and lots of use, I'm afraid it will. For the sake of you, lucky reviewers, I'm going to use it without any modification to see if it does happen and notify you in a follow-up. However, if you want to prevent this problem in your own toy and not take the chance, clear nail polish keeps threads from unraveling.
In the original review, I expressed concern over the tails. I'm not sure why, but they haven't actually unraveled themselves despite multiple uses. It's odd. I assumed they would sense nothing seems to be holding them braided, but they haven't seemed to come apart at all.
The flogger itself also hasn't tangled nor crinkled. We keep it hanging on the wall by the O-ring, and it looks as good as new. Definitely one of the favorite floggers.
