I was so excited to get a second set of nipple clamps, as I have had issues with the other set we own. These criss-cross nipple clamps have a different clamp style to others I have seen, and the ones we have at home, which is what attracted me to them in the first place.

I thought the different clamp would stop it from slipping or pulling off.

Boy was I wrong!

For the first time since I started getting toys from Eden Fantasys, it arrived while my husband and I where both home so we both got to enjoy the excitement of opening the new toy.

Its simple clam shaped, clear plastic packaging, with the clamps nicely displayed right up front, is not a discreetly packaged toy. There is a cardboard insert with a standard "naughty" image on the front and the words NIPPLE PLAY across the top.

The chain and clamps measure 18 inches total, with the 12 inch metal chain. The clamps are also made from metal, which according to the packaging is Chrome, but I have my doubts. Metal has a material safety rating of 9. It is phthalate-free and has firm, smooth texture. The chain is made up of connected balls or links, but they do have a smooth texture. The clamps are topped with a latex free rubber tip with a material safety rating of 3, it’s a porous material, so it does not clean well. (Can the tips be removed for cleaning? I am not sure and have not tried. I do not want to ruin the clamps.) The chain can be boiled or cleaned with a 10% bleach and water solution, while the rubber tips can be cleaned with toy cleaner or warm water and soap.

The clamps and chain weigh in at 0.3lb, so are by no means heavy, they will pull slightly when the breast/nipples are hanging. We tried doggy style for this, but they certainly don't offer a weighted feeling during wear.

The clamps work on a clamp and screw base, where you loosen the screw to be able to open the clamps until they are wide enough to place over your nipple. You then release the clamp and turn the screw to tighten the clamp until they are firmly in place. Great in theory, but the design of this toy fails completely. For me or my husband to be able to open the clamp to get over my 1cm diameter nipple, we needed to loosen the screw about 2 full twists, but as soon as you open the screw this much, the hook system on the bases of the clamps fail and the two halves of the clamp fall apart.

Its not that we got a faulty toy, it really is a faulty design as it happens on both clamps. It is "fixable" but you have to tighten the screw again and re-hook one side of the clamp to the other. And it continues to happen. Each and every time.

We did figure a way around it, but only for the review. We definitely won't be using these after the follow up review is done.

My experience didn't start well with these, of course there was the usual excitement of the package slip in the mail, picking it up from the post office, taking it home and ripping open the box, but that is where the excitement ended. After taking them out of the packet and struggling to open the clamps, I handed them to my husband, who opened them no trouble. He then handed them to me and when I opened them one of the clamps decided to fall apart. This put me off from trying them in the bedroom, but ever the Eden Fantasys Professional, I had a job to do! *cue superhero music*

My husband quickly fixed the broken clamp and gauged the tension on his finger. It held pretty well and I became a little more excited to try them, since the ones we had before had a tendency to fall off.

Solo Play - I have been using nipple clamps occasionally during solo time by attaching the clamps, hooking my thumb in the chain and make my way down, etc., etc. In this case, the chain is just a little short and I need to tilt my hips up further, but it does make for a bigger orgasm. Now the hard part, attaching the clamps, not because they hurt but because it’s just a bitch getting them to work properly. With these clamps, I can only give the screw 1 full twist, otherwise the clamps fall part and then I have to pinch my nipple until it is almost flat in order to get the clamp over my nipple. Now for me, this is a bit too much pressure for my liking and it’s not that these are tight clamps, you just can't use them on a looser setting.

Couple Play - It was the first time in a while my husband and I had sex mid-afternoon, but we were both excited about another Eden toy. After fixing the clamps, and figuring out how to use them without them falling apart, we jumped into bed. Clamps attached, me flat on my back and ready for some oral love from my man, we started. Every now and then my husband hand would sneak up and give the chain a light tug. Something we have done and enjoyed with our other clamps, but not so with this one. It was just too tight. I was fine having them attached, even though it was more pain than I am use to. But I could handle that, as long as we didn't pull on them. Next test was the doggy style swing. Now my husband, coming from his Dom role, liked this as it made me stay down rather than push myself up and back against him forgetting my submissive role. But still, it was just too tight and I couldn’t adjust the clamps as much as I needed.
