This review is for the Spandex Open-Mouth Hood by Pipedream. It comes in the basic black. The material is spandex. The care that you need to do when washing it is a hand wash in warm water (not hot), and let it air dry. It is very easy to care for because it has a resistance to a lot of things like: body oils, perspiration, lotions, and detergents with no static or piling problems. It's so lightweight at less than a pound. The box that it came in has a woman with the mask on, and there's no denying why there's a mouth hole in it (for obvious insertion of foreign objects).

This can be used solo or with one or more partners, it'd be great if everyone (who knows and trusts the other players enough to be masked) at a play gathering were to have a mask on and nobody knew who was under them and the only rule being is that everyone wears a condom and changes with each partner change. Maybe a Halloween or New Years gathering or even a celebration of types (Hmmm...giving me ideas),or really for anything you want to wear it for.

I strongly advise against wearing this mask to rob a bank or anything illegal for that matter. True they won't be able to describe your face, eyes, or hair, but you'd probably knock yourself out trying to get away. I don't condone any illegal activities in the first place. You would land yourself on America's Dumbest Criminals, and I know I would be laughing my butt off. To me, wearing the hood would put you in the mind of someone trying to see through cataracts (I'm not making fun of the people who have them). That's just what it reminds me of.

I've been blind folded before and that intensified the other scents. I tried the hood on thinking to myself “how odd”. Unsure of what exactly it was going to do, as I pulled it over my head, it stretched the full width of it, and it fit snugly from the top of my head to down under the jaw line. Once I adjusted the open mouth hole correctly and fitted the piece that goes under my nose to hold it in place, I started the "size up". I could breathe through it (I don't suggest sleeping in it). It's hot, stuffy, and a body could over heat in it if not careful. I was able to see through it, basic colors and outlines, so if you want a total black out situation going on you need to either put a blindfold over or under the mask. It's entirely up to you as to how you want the scenario. I was unable to control the mouse on my computer and my vision was to the point that I was unable to see the key board.

Over the use and abuse over the past few months, I'm surprised that this has kept its shape, and mine still looks as good as new. I definitely recommend getting one of these for light BDSM play because light that it allows through the mask.
