Scalloped brow pony bridle by Sinvention - review by Nashville

A bridle serves many purposes within Pony Play. First, many show ponies consider a bridle their pride and glory and often attach brightly colored feathered plumes or ears. Second, this is a necessary piece of tack for cart and riding ponies as the bridle is almost always worn with a bit and reins.

The Scalloped Brow Pony Bridle by Sinvention is a very strong, clean looking bridle. The black leather is nice and thick, and while the matte black coloring is quite suitable for a cart or riding pony, show ponies may long for something with a little bit more flair.

Connecting the browband to the crown piece are 4 celtic inspired silver screws; only up close will one notice the detailing of the screws and this can prove to be disappointing for show ponies as during events, many of their spectators are seated far away. However, once you're able to inspect the bridle, the ornamentation of these screws is undeniably beautiful.

The design of the scalloped browband will not dig into foreheads as it lays flat and comfortable against skin once the headpiece strap is adjusted to an appropriate size. The throat latch (secures under the chin) and the headpiece (secures at the back of the head) both offer eleven precut holes as well as tuck loops, which allows for a perfect fit and the ability to keep the straps looking nice and tidy once you've found the right size.

Both the headpiece and chin straps are adjustable and will fit hat sizes ranging from petite to large(20" to 26") aiding in this bridle's ability to be an unisex product. Unfortunately, as you stretch and adjust the straps of the bridle, you may start to notice that with time, the leather of the bridle will wrinkle and stretch out. To remove wrinkles; either use steam or a low-temperature dry hand iron.

The Scalloped Brow Pony Bridle comes equipped with blinkers (blinders) which many owners, trainers, and riders find a necessity to use with their ponies. Care should be taken as blinkers will limit your pony's view and if not steered or verbally instructed in the right direction, blinkers create the potential of a pony falling and hurting themselves. The blinkers are not removable but they are adjustable and in being adjustable, they do not stay in the same position for very long. The blinkers have a habit of sliding down which will obstruct, obscure, and distract your pony's line of sight.

Ponies and their trainers will absolutely love this beautiful bitless bridle. While some show ponies may wish for something with a little bit more flair and ornamentation, the Scalloped Brow Pony Bridle from Sinvention is a very lovely, understated piece that with the right plume or set of ears, could truly be something amazing.

For me- my bridle is to Pony Play what a collar is to a submissive. When my husband put it onto me for the very first time it was his way of saying, "you're my pony to do with as I wish."
