LELO boa pleasure ties - restraints discontinued by LELO - review by Mr. & Mrs. Peg

In terms of bondage ties there are a three things that I look for. First, they absolutely must be comfortable. Mrs. Peg agrees to let me tie her up on occasion for the purpose of limiting her control of the situation. She is not interested in pain and I am not interested in inflicting it on her…..so comfort is a absolute must. Second, they need to be secure. We use a safe word and Mrs. Peg trusts me to respect her boundaries; but like I said, we are removing her control. If she can get out of the ties easily then that illusion is lost. Third, they need to be sexy. I have a couple of sets of hospital-grade restraints. They are, by design, comfortable. They are incredibly secure, with a triple redundant system for keeping them on. They are NOT sexy in the least. There are some very nice padded leather cuffs that fit our criteria, but they tend to look a little too BDSM for those torture-you-with-kisses nights. Enter the LELO Boa Silk Pleasure Ties: comfy, secure, and sexy perfection.

The Boa Silk Pleasure Ties by LELO are absolutely gorgeous. Ours are red which looks striking against light skin and black sheets. They are made from a silk-like material with an embossed floral print on one side which is a nice detail that adds another level of class to these beautiful ties. The other side of the tie is smooth. These two fabrics are sewn together with a tight straight internal seam for strength and to make sure the silk does not fray. It also provides a clean look of quality. These ties are about 2 inches wide and 40.5 inches long without the rings. Each ties has two round rings which are chromed and have an outside diameter of about 2.5 inches. The tie is slipped through both the rings and then down between the two to secure the wrists. The last 6 inches of each tie (distal to the rings) has a pouch which contains a handful of freshwater pearls. These provide a little weight but also prevent the knots from sliding completely free. You can also throw the tie over a door and close it to secure your partner to the door frame. (The length of the ties makes this somewhat impractical. If really want to secure your partner to the to a door, tie a knot closer the wrists and the throw the ties over the door, effectively shortening the length of the tie.)

While it is possible to turn these luxurious ties into a pair of hardcore bondage ties, we preferred to use them with sensory play and light bondage. Because the Boa Silk Pleasure Ties secure the wrists with o-rings there is really nothing to prevent them from getting progressively tighter. This is especially true if your partner struggles too much against them. This feature does make these very secure ties but you have to be sure that your partner is comfortable and safe. The generous width of the Boa Silk Pleasure Ties keeps them from biting or digging into the skin of your partner’s wrists or ankles which enhances their comfortable. I did find that the large rings could be a little uncomfortable when they were over the bones in my wrist. Mrs. Peg, with her smaller wrists, did not have this problem, interestingly enough. Making sure the rings are place in a comfortable spot prior to tightening the tie solved this easily enough. Of course, as with any bondage scenario, we strongly recommend playing very close attention to your partner’s pleasure and to make sure you have a safe word in case things get too intense.

You can use these Boa Ties to secure your partner to the bed, a chair, or even a door (as described above.) You can also use the ties to simply tie your partner up. Mrs. Peg sometimes likes to be held tightly at times when we make love. Because the Boa Silk Pleasure Ties are so long, we were able to bind her arms across her chest and give her that constrained feeling while allowing me move about and tend to her pleasure spots. These straps are also wide enough that you can use them to hold onto while thrusting without having to worry about rope burns or pinching skin.

We cannot overstate the quality and luxury of the Boa Silk Pleasure Ties. In our collection of playthings, they are, by far, some of the prettiest things we own. Besides the safety factor of making sure they don’t get too tight, our next biggest concern with these ties is ruining them. Because of the way we play and our predilection for pegging, we use a lot of lube. I really don’t know how well these will hold up to washing and I am afraid to get them covered with lube. I know silk can get water stained and I figure water-based lube will leave a stain. I am fairly certain a silicone-based lube will stain them. Because of this we really we use these almost exclusively for light play where Mrs. Peg is the focus of attention. Besides, I think I am more suited to a pair of leathers and I know she looks stunning when secured by our deep red ties.

We had occasional to play with these again this past weekend. These are abosolutely exquisite, have held up tremendously, work excemtioally well and are stunningly sexy. Where I have had some issue with the d-rings on my wrists...it turns out I have not problem with them on my ankles!
