The Suspension Fleece Wrist Restraints by Spartacus are heavy duty black leather restraints with adjustable buckles designed for more advanced bondage. The cuffs are very thick with each cuff having two heavy D-rings to attach to a hook overhead. There is also a thick D-ring on the outside wrist portion of each cuff for versatility. This could be used to attach the cuffs together or to some other implement. The inside of the cuffs are lined with thick black fleece which is really quite comfortable. Each cuff has ten pre-punched holes in the wrist strap to allow the cuff to be snugly and comfortably buckled around most any size wrist. They even fit around my ankles.

Best Use
These cuffs are by far bigger and thicker than any cuffs we own. As a couple that has been together a very long time, we are not new to bondage play; however, we also are not hardcore BDSM players. We tie each other up regularly, but we have never owned a pair of suspension cuffs before. Although these are “suspension” cuffs, we don’t intend to use them to support our weight, as I don’t believe it would be comfortable or safe to have all of one’s weight suspended from one’s wrists and arms. They are designed more to reduce strain on the wrists and help support the weight of the arms. Our intention is to use these with the bondee’s feet on the ground or in some other appropriate position with the arms bound comfortably above the head. We even found that the cuffs fit our ankles to allow for cuffing ankles to a spreader bar for other creative uses.

Packaging and Care and Maintenance
To clean the leather, simply wipe it down with a mild soap and damp cloth, but avoid saturating it with water. A leather conditioner can also be used to restore suppleness. The fleece lining can be wiped down and dried with a hair dryer on the lowest setting.

Spartacus recommends storing leather out of direct sunlight and away from humidity or excessive heat. They also warn against storing leather in plastic bags which can prevent the leather from “breathing”. Funny, mine arrived sealed in a plastic bag. Because the bag was clear, it was not at all discreet as anyone could see that the bag contained a pair of cuffs. I actually appreciate the simplicity of the packaging.

We keep our cuffs stored in a dedicated drawer of our toy chest reserved for similar toys and that has worked just fine.

When my new Suspension Restraints by Spartacus arrived in the mail, I couldn’t wait to try them out on my wife. She was a willing and eager partner, so I wrapped the cuffs around her wrists and prepared to hang them from a hook over her head. Getting the cuffs around her wrists and fastened was a little awkward. The cuffs are very thick and I had to work a little to get them fastened snugly on her wrists properly. This was primarily due to the extra thick fleece lining. Once I had the cuffs securely in place, I attached them to an overhead hook. Her feet were planted firmly on the ground, but the suspension cuffs allowed for the hook above her head to support the weight of her arms. The design of the cuffs further relieved any strain on her wrists while giving her something to grasp on to for additional support. This enabled her to remain in this position comfortably for far longer than standard cuffs we have used in this manner in the past. The way in which the cuffs were bound also intensified my wife’s feelings of helplessness.

My wife enjoyed these cuffs so much that she wanted to turn the tables and let me experience them. In order to give a fair and balanced review, I decided it would be in my best interests to play along. And I must admit, I certainly do enjoy the times when she shows her aggressive side. I found the cuffs to be very comfortable, and they allowed me to enjoy my wife’s attention and focus for an extended period of time. In summary, we both enjoyed using the suspension cuffs. They are a great addition to our toy box and we give them five stars.
