What Did I Do To Deserve Neoprene At This Price

These are nice-looking cuffs but I expected a better lining on them for the price. I want something that will last a long time and I'm just not sure on these. They are well-constructed aside from the lining!

I was excited as hell about receiving these, as I have other cuffs but none suitable for ankles and none that came with a way to attach them. This was just too convenient not to buy.

Unfortunately, I was a bit horrified as well as charmed upon opening the cardboard box.

The chain was absolutely lovely, strong and long enough to walk while wearing these cuffs without discomfort. Some may not like that, but I do. It means I can engage in some comfortable, light self-bondage around the house. I can even hide them under long pj pants.

The cuffs also looked very nice on the outside. They fit my average-sized ankles perfectly without chafing or being too big. I admired the way they looked on me. The leather smells good and looks beautiful. I like it even more than the leather used on my expensive cuffs.

There was a downside. Let's talk about the downside. These cuffs are lined with highly absorbent, spongy neoprene with foam-like, unfinished edges. It's comfortable but I get sweaty feet and I can already tell the lining is going to get smelly if I use these a lot with no real way to get it sufficiently clean. I'm tempted to try to rip it off and replace it with something else but I have no clue how to attach, say, fake fur to leather on my own.

I like these and I want to like them, but I just don't like the lining. I'll definitely be making good use of the chains but I may need to buy another pair of ankle cuffs for use with people whose body fluids I don't want permanently absorbed into my cuffs. I'm just too paranoid for this stuff!

The packaging is not discreet. It has a picture of legs wearing the cuffs on the front. The cuffs and chain are in a plastic bag inside.

Can you remove the neoprene without harming the stitching?

Thanks for the warning on these.

Dancingduo- It's possible but I'm not sure how to do it without making it more uncomfortable so I'll probably leave it.

    Oh dear gods. Neoprene? *cringe*

I'd say you could maybe cover the neoprene lining with a suede or leather (you can pick up small 'sheets' at Hobby Lobby or some other crafting store), but that isn't going to solve the possibility of bodily fluids soaking into your cuffs. :/ It's a pity leather isn't non-porous.

Thank you for the review! Sorry that your cuffs weren't as awesome as they could have been.
