LifeStyles Skyn - male condom discontinued by Ansell - review by Teagan Shepard

These hypoallergenic polyisoprene condoms from Lifestyles are great for those with latex sensitivities: Skyns are latex free! They are sized "regular," but are nice and stretchy; they fit my hubby like a glove! Well, really they fit better than a glove, but they have plenty of stretch so that we don't worry about breakage and they don't slip and slide around like larger condoms do. There's not a bulbous reservoir tip, but there is a little pocket at the end. They fit so well that I don't notice that there's a condom with the exception of not having to clean up semen at the end of the sack session. I particularly enjoy the fact that as Hubby is pulling out, it doesn't feel like he's dragging a snake skin out with him. Since the end doesn't have the wider head room, it grips to the head of the penis and stays in place when he's thrusting and when he's pulling out. It is also nice that if we use these for shower or tub play, he doesn't have to worry about getting water inside the condom. All that makes it a lot more pleasant for me, and if I'm happy, he's happy!

These would also be great to use as toy covers since they fit snugly. Just make sure, however you use it, you don't use oil-based lube: this will break the condom down and it will not be as effective against STDs and pregnancy. We know I always recommend a good water-based lube anyway, right?

Hubby really likes these. He doesn't feel like they are any thinner than "regular" condoms, but he likes the polyisoprene material better. He also likes the fact that they fit better than others we've tried. We've actually been using these for a few years now, and prefer them to anything else.

The only downside I have to purchasing these condoms from EF is that EF only carries the three-packs. I really wish they carried larger packs, because we prefer to buy a month's worth (at least) at a time and I don't like having lots of little boxes floating around.

So, we've tried a few other brands of condoms between when I wrote the review and now. But we always come back to the Skyn ones. They simply feel better. We always go for the "ultra thin, barely there" types, and this brand just simply feels better. These also don't have a latex-y smell.
