Ultimate bondage evil mouth strap - chin harness discontinued by NMC Ltd - review by Research

The Ultimate Bondage Evil Mouth Strap from NMC Ltd. is one of those very specific use BDSM items that is meant to do one specific thing very well. In this case, the Ultimate Bondage Evil Mouth Strap (henceforth referred to as Evil Strap) is a clever combination of a ball gag and a chin harness. Where a ball gag is made to simply gag the wearer's mouth, a chin harness is a device that mounts firmly and securely below the mouth and around the back of the head in order to hold a dildo. Chin harnesses tend to be large and sturdy in order to provide the stability needed to make them work. With this in mind, let's take a look at the Evil Strap.

To its credit, the gag and dildo section of the Evil Strap is body safe Silicone. The harness section is PU coated plastic with steel grommets for the buckle and rounded edges on the strap. On initial inspection it seems to be of decent quality, nothing amazing but not bad either. The Silicone is relatively soft, very similar to the Tantus General. It is firm enough to support itself but not so firm you will hurt your teeth when you bite down. The strap section is fairly standard for a ball gag, the strap extends from each side of the gag and wraps around the back of the head where the skull meets the spine and is fastened with a steel buckle. The steel grommets hold firmly but I feel the thickness of the metal all around is a bit too thin. The buckle, the grommets, and the fasteners holding the whole thing together just feel a bit fragile.

The design overall is a neat idea. The dildo section is small enough that it isn't pulled down by its own weight and has a soft round gag section that the wearer can bite down on securely. The metal buckles seem of nice quality and overall it looks great. Even so, while it works fine in the photos on the box I had a heck of a time getting the darn thing to sit properly and act like a gag. The strap that goes around the back of the head sits too low and slides down the curve of the skull. In order to tighten it down you have to wrap it around the back of the neck instead and that gives you a pretty steep and awkward angle for wearing.

The strap system allows for plenty of adjustment in the strap but that doesn't really help. What this toy needs is a much wider strap that holds in place better. It doesn't matter if this ends up being a perfect fit around your jaw and head if it's just going to slip down around your neck in a few minutes. I'll go ahead and call this a universal fit but unless you're lying down, it's going places.

After much trial and error I have decided that despite the official photos of the models standing around wearing this crazy thing, I believe it can only be properly worn when the wearer is prone. The dildo section is just too heavy to stand out straight and is probably designed to only be straight up and down. Obviously if the wearer can only lie there, that affects the performance a bit. The partner can ride this dildo while it is firmly in the wearer's mouth, allowing the partner to effectively ride the wearer's face while still being penetrated. This may not be the most universally useful toy on the market but I can certainly say that it can add some great variety to power play in the bedroom.

The packaging is pretty minimal, just a white cardboard box with a model wearing the device. I wonder that the photo might be photoshopped though, the device in the model's mouth seems to be much smaller than the one in the package. That doesn't really matter though, the box is recyclable and the strap is loose in the box. Just take it out and away you go. I don't store it in anything special in my toybox.
