The Play Pal is designed for backdoor beginners and succeeds on many levels. You just have to stick the strong suction cup base to your favorite smooth surface and get going. This toy is great for solo or couples play, particularly if either partner is new to the amazing world of backdoor adventure.

When I initially opened the clear bag that the Play Pal comes in, I noticed it had a slight plastic smell that you might expect from any toy in this price range, but nothing bad. However, while I was washing it up, the smell intensified as the toy got hotter. I sprayed it down with some toy cleaner, let it sit for a bit, then washed it up again. It was better, but still not great. Hopefully, that will improve in time. The silicone material is wonderfully soft without being mushy. It’s very flexible, to the point where it became a bit of a challenge to insert during solo play once everything was lubed up.

The length and girth of the Play Pal are ideal for backdoor newcomers, first-time peggers, DP, or really anyone who enjoys anal play but just isn’t into bigger toys or doesn’t want something too big for that particular session. The fact that it has a flared suction cup base is a huge bonus, and I can’t wait to see how it performs in a harness. The curve is great for prostate or G-spot play, but I found the flexibility was just a bit much for really rubbing the P-spot the right way. It’s good, don’t get me wrong, but just not quite as good as some of the firmer toys. Still, this item adds a nice, comfortable experience to playtime. An average backdoor enthusiast will still really enjoy the Play Pal, and it’s hard to beat the price. This toy is perfect for travel because it’s not huge, and there are no electronics that can accidentally go off. The purple color is ok, but in this day and age, as more men discover how amazing P-spot play can be, I do wish there were more masculine color choices available.

The suction cup base on the Play Pal does not disappoint. It stays right where you put it until you want it somewhere else. The size is big enough to excite, but not so big as to stretch, which is really a huge benefit of this item. It’s great that this toy goes in gently, fills you enough to add to the experience, reminds the prostate that it’s there to party, and delivers a bigger bang. What more can you ask for at such a reasonable price? The only drawbacks are the flexibility making it a bit of a challenge to insert when using the suction cup base and the initial smell.

Clean up is really easy with the Play Pal; I just wash it thoroughly with soap and hot water, spray it down with toy cleaner, let it sit for a couple of minutes, then wash again with soap and water. This item is dishwasher safe, but I can’t pull that off in my busy home. I keep it separate from my other toys in its own pouch (not included) in my toy box.

The Play Pal comes in a clear plastic bag with no instructions. Obviously, you don’t need any, but if you’re wondering what they would say, it would be “lube, insert, enjoy, repeat.” The bag must be cut or ripped open to get the toy out and is not resealable or discreet in any way.

I really enjoy the Play Pal; for a smaller toy, it gets big jobs done. I do wish I had found this item when I was first entering the world of backdoor adventure as it is a perfect starter toy, but better late than never. I’d absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for a great entry-level backdoor experience or anyone that simply doesn’t feel like stretching too much once in a while. You won’t regret it!
