A Perfect Stranger

The John Doe is a semi-realistic dildo with plenty of tricks to keep you interested. A filling girth, bulbous head, and angled, lightly textured shaft all make this a wonderful toy. Insert a bullet in the bottom to transform it into a vibrator! Couple it with the Tantus Suction Cup for some hands-free fun! Use it with a partner, in a harness, or go solo. Whenever the mood strikes, whatever you're craving, the John Doe is the perfect stranger for the job.

Use

The John Doe is a surprisingly versatile toy, which can be enjoyed in a multitude of ways. It's mainly intended for vaginal use; however, it could also be utilized for anal sex. It has a decent sized base; but, unfortunately, the base is also rather flexible and squishy, so you'll definitely want to be cautious when using this toy anally. It would also make a great tool for simulating oral, if that appeals to you. Please keep in mind that though it can be used either vaginally, anally, or orally, you should never do so in succession. ALWAYS sterilize this toy before switching orifices or sharing with a partner.

Now, we've covered *where* you can use the John Doe, but what about how? This is where it gets interesting... You can use it as a plain and simple dildo for solo play. You could strap it into an o-ring for some fun with a partner. Transform it into a mild vibrator by inserting the included bullet into a hole in the base. OR, turn it into a hands free fuck buddy when your lover is away by inserting the Tantus Suction Cup into the aforementioned hole. Three bodily locations, four uses, what more could you ask for?!

Material / Texture

The John Doe is made of food-grade silicone, which is non-porous, hypo-allergenic, and both phthalates and latex free. It has no smell or taste. This particular blend of silicone actually has a pretty heavy drag to it, which will definitely be appreciated in use. The toy is covered in raised "veins", which lend a very light texture to it. The silicone has a soft, almost velvety feel, and is very firm. The one downside to the material of this toy is that it is prone to attracting all the dust and hair in the world. I've seriously never met another silicone dildo that had such a strong crap-magnetism, which really sucks if (like me) you have pets.

Design / Shape / Size

The John Doe is 7" in total length, 6 1/2" insertable, & 1 3/4" in diameter. It vaguely resembles a penis, but I wouldn't go so far as to label it realistic. It features a flat base with a roughly 1/2" hole in the bottom, a straight, slightly angled shaft, and a rather bulbous head. There are also faint, abstract veins covering its shaft. If I'm being honest, all of these factors make the toy somewhat awkward in appearance. However, they do add to how awesome this dildo is in use, so please forgive our nondescript stranger. The combination of this toy's filling size, bulbous head, and angled shaft all equal awesome g-spot action. The veins also add a very light but enjoyable texture. Due to the size of this toy, I would not recommend it for beginners. However, it would make a great addition for intermediate to advanced users.

Performance

The John Doe is amazing, any way you use it. I've not yet tried it anally or orally, but have used it both by myself, with a partner, as a dildo, as a vibe, and as a hands-free fuck-me-like-you-mean-it suction cupped toy. In all aspects, this thing rocks! Girthy and angled, it knows what you want and just where you want it. It works perfectly in a harness since it's firm, & not too floppy. I really loved using it in conjunction with the Tantus Suction Cup for some sex in the shower, against a door, or just up next to the headboard. I will say, however, that the John Doe doesn't stand as erect as I'd hoped when used in conjunction with the Suction Cup. I believe this has to do with the depth of the hole in the base of the toy. Still, it's excellent.

Last, but certainly not least, let's discuss using this baby as a vibe. The John Doe comes with an included 2 1/2" x 3/4" bullet. The bullet itself takes 3 watch batteries, & is surprisingly powerful. It turns on via a push button on the cap, and also features an o-ring, which should make it at least splash-proof. The bullet is only one speed, but it is incredibly strong. It makes a great little clit vibe if you'd rather use it that way rather than in the dildo. Inserting the bullet into the hole in the base of the toy will turn your standard dildo into a mild vibrator. I say mild because while the bullet itself is intense, the vibrations are severely diminished when inserted in the John Doe. The vibes can be felt along the entire shaft of the toy, but are strongest of course near the base, where the bullet is inserted. As I mentioned, it's not very powerful while in the toy, but does add a light, lovely buzz. In all, the John Doe is a great toy with a variety of uses.

Care and Maintenance

The John Doe is compatible with water-based lubricants. Avoid silicone-based lubricants unless you're willing to risk ruining your toy. When playtime's over, simply wash with warm water & antibacterial soap to clean. Being made of silicone, this toy is also sterilizable; you can do so by either boiling it, tossing it in the top rack of your dishwasher (sans the soap), or wiping it down with a 10% bleach solution. Please do not do any of these while the bullet is still inserted in the toy.
    • Easy to clean

Packaging

The toy came packaged in a clear plastic box, covered in white font, detailing the product in 4 different languages. Inside the box is a plastic mold that the toy and the bullet rest in. There were no instructions included with the toy, but there were really none needed. The packaging could be saved and reused as storage, but it's kind of cheap, as well as space consuming.

Follow-up commentary
The John Doe admittedly hasn't gotten much use as a strap-on since I first reviewed him. He's not the first thing I reach for as a standalone dildo either. But when I want a little shower-time suction cup lovin', John Doe is my stranger of choice. Still a great toy with a lot of use left in it. Very pleased I decided to give this one a try!
